I must have been expecting to much as I didn't think it even came close to living up to the hype. Sorry but if Ledger hadn't have passed there is no way they would even be talking about giving him an award.

I liked the messages in the movie but all in all thought it was a dud (especially the Dawes recast)..

    I saw the midnight showing....WoW!

I saw it again on Sunday....WoW!

I saw it again on Tuesday...WoW!

This movie was brilliantly complex and magnificently acted, not to mention very, very entertaining. Every time I have gone back it reveals a little bit more of itself. It reminds me of what is now Christopher Nolan's second best film "The Prestige." I could watch either over and over and still be surprised by something. Even with the striking plot complexities my favorite parts are still Heath Ledger's many monologues. My favorite movie scene ever (the final scene of Pulp Fiction) may have been replaced five times over by The Joker's horrifying stories and almost philosophical rants/speeches/grand deceptions. When he is orating to batman (twice) and Dent once he wins nearly wins you over and justifies his terrible actions. Amazing. A truly epic movie and an awe-dropping performance. Go see it.

PS: I agree with the previous post...Maggie G. was a terribly uninspiring Rachel.

This film was amazing. Brilliant. One of the best movies ever. Seriously. Much more than a superhero film.

Dark Knight killed Spiderman 3 at the box office......with that said though even the director pointed it out in an interview. "I doubt it would have gotten this turnout if Heath were alive. Don't get me wrong, its a great movie but the added press didn't hurt us at the box office"
Which I agree. But if my 3 little boys can stay awake through the entire movie and like it I know adults can. The best Batman pic to date hands down. By far the best Joker I've ever seen portrayed, but not Oscar worthy! Come on now.

I still think Jack Nickelson(sp) was a better joker.

Jack Nicholson was great as Joker, and is great in most movies...but his Joker is so...1989

he's still the 2nd best joker....Heath Ledger took it to a whole new level...Based on all the hype, I had really high expectations, and he delivered...Has his performance really disappointed anybody?

Oscar? doubt it...but he should be nominated...and not cuz he passed, but because he was just that good as Joker!

Yea he was that sane insane character you have not seen. Loved everything he did and truely worthy of some acting award. His logic was insanely great! But true.

A must see on the big screen.....

Heath's performance as the Joker smashes what Jack did. It isn't even close. Who the hell blows up a hospital? He did it with grace too. lol

I've only see it once, but would like to see it again. This time, at the IMAX.

After 13 days, The Dark Knight has grossed $343 million domestically. Fastest ever to 200 & 300 mil. Will hit 400 mil next week. Still has a long way to go to top Titanic's $600 million domestic gross.
