Thats why you always read the entire auction........I have seen numerous auctions where Adrian Peterson/Bears got insane bids.....and you know thats what the seller is going for in posting them...seller is doing nothing wrong - but you can always count on people not doing their research.
Sorta like this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/2-1989-UPPER-DEC...QQcmdZViewItem
What this guy is selling is 89 Upper Deck factory update sets but the auction gives the impression you are bidding on 89 UD Wax Boxes. (I even had to look twice He does not tell you they are the 100 card update set calling them "boxes" and even at the bottom of the auction he put this little disclaimer at the end of the auction: ***ALL ITEMS ARE CLEARLY PICTURED AND ARE THE ITEM YOU WILL RECEIVE SO BID WITH CONFIDENCE
In other words : Be educated and know what you are bidding on....

He does show a picture. If you don't know the 2007 Adrian Peterson never played for the Bears than you shouldn't be bidding over a $100 on sportscards.

this kinda happened to me once I was selling a "brett favre 02 private stock 2 clr jersey/patch 42/50" was the exact title minus a few letters so I put in the description what it was #ed to and thney year/pruduct etc with a pic of the card.... so it sells for 25 bucks, well the guy who bought it emails a day after he gets it and says where the brett favre GU jersey (like the actually jersey) so I tell him he was bidding on a card and something about how I had tricked him into buying a stupid card and not a game used jersey so I told him I had a pic of the card and I didnt know what he was thinking so he told me that he thought that was the COA so he left negative saying that was a very deceptive seller
