I've heard that Romney was an unlikely VP, but I hope that was wrong. I hope this doesn't sound bad, but if McCain were to get elected, we'd have a strong, government-lessening Republican as VP in case of McCain's death. It must be considered...McCain is old...lol

Biden is a terrible pick for Obama in my opinion. Evan Bayh would have helped him. Bayh is a conservative from the south and is someone even I would vote for President over McCain. Yes, I said that. I would vote for Bayh over Mcain and so would MANY conservatives. Biden simply adds another Liberal to an already very Liberal President contender. Terrible pick in my opinion! How does Delaware help Obama? NO ONE voted for Biden when he ran in the primaries! No one!
Romney will be his choice I think. Romney is very popular in Michagan because his dad was Governor there and would be a pick up for the Republicans and if they hold Ohio the election is over. He also solidifies the Morman states of Utah, Nevada and a few other Mid West areas. It also helps him in states like Massachusetts and conservative areas. It will hurt him with some VERY right-wing Christians that hate Mormons though. Overall, it is a great fit for McCain. The other pick is the Minnesota governor because it is another state McCain would love to pick up.

I'm Quaker Christian according to some of the popular online religious tests, but Romney's beliefs won't make me go against him. He has great business sense and is younger than McCain, so if McCain doesn't last his term (a certain possibility since the average age of American men at death is around 74), Romney is definitely able to take over McCain's position.

Khendra, there is also talk that McCain would be a single term President. So, whoever his VP is will likely be the nomination for 2012.

I see your point about Romney possibly messing up the evanglestic Christians, but I don't think that they would be swayed enough to vote for Obama/Biden.

I agree. They will just not show up to vote UNLESS McCain can get some of the Christian initiatives on the ballot in most key states. I personally believe Bush won in 2004 ONLY because of the gay marriage vote in so many states. They voted for that and Bush was just secondary. This year I think it will be abortion due to Obama's terrible record on abortion.

My guess is that these right-winged Christian states are all southern. As a proud southerner, you're hard-pressed to find a large number of Obama supporters. The south will, as always, go with the Republican.

I really am hoping fo rRomney to Join mccain. I just hope that the Evangelical Christians (Which I am a part of) dont make this an issue. So Romney is a mormon. Obama/biden may be nothing. McCain may be nothing, no one REALLY knows, it is between them and God. Just make the best choice... that would be McCain/Romney.
