I am a political junkie and in now way am backing either candidate by this statement. Neither of the candidates is the best of each party. The 2 strongest candidates, meaning the 2 that were most closely aligned to their party, were Joe Biden and Duncan Hunter.
With that being said......
The Dems have blown this election.
In 2008, with the economy struggling, a war that the majority of the country doesn't want there is NO WAY the Democrats can lose the Presidency.
Yet the media and the fringe of the party fawn over an honorable man who can make incredible speaches. They hold a political funeral for Mrs Clinton and at the beginning of the summer have a nice lead.
Then someone thinks it it a good idea to have the Obamapalooza Coronation Tour '08 and speak to hoards of people who do not vote for president. The love the Senator from Illinois and I truly believe if he could run for president of France or Germany he would win in a minute.
Then these same advisors get around to vetting a VP candidate and they don't even look into the person who would clinch the election, Mrs Bill Clinton.
Then the "Candidate of Change" picks a Washington insider, know for running his mouth too much, as his VP.
I made 2 wagers today that McCain wins in November.

Very good response! I believe you are 100% correct. If Obama picked Clinton he would have won. 20% of Clinton supports state that they will NOT vote for Obama. That is a lot for people! He has out spent McCain 3 to 1 and has had 3 to 1 coverage in the media and we are in a tie. The Joe Biden announcement didn't really get the buzz he expected, except when Obama called Biden, "the next President" and when Biden called Obama, "Barrack America" during their intros. :)

Have there been any polls since his Biden pick? Obama was leading before his VP decision.
I agree that Clinton would give him a better chance to win the election, but how would they coexist together in office? I think back to the Democrat primaries.

Ash,
McCain got a bump and now has a lead. Looks like no one is impressed. From Gallop:

I'm much too conservative to be considered a Republican anymore...And I would think that any undecided would find this quite interesting.
