Retail Blasters
I was just wonder which of these 2008 retail blasters I should get? Limited budget keeps me from buying them all lol.
Topps Chrome- I love refractors, and have seen lots of people get lucky with nice chrome autos.
Upper Deck- Loved the Starquests from baseball and I heard there's an abundant amount of football Starquests in blasters. Plus the guaranteed GU is a nice thing also.
Absolute- Not sure on this one, my blaster breaks on this product in previous years have only yielded base. They've guaranteed a GU per blaster this year though.
Sage High Series- I'm not sure my Wal-Mart carries this, but i've heard many good things on this. 2 guaranteed autos plus an almost complete base set for only $20 makes me go

I buy all the Topps Chrome I can. Even for blasters they are awesome. Upper Deck is kinda 50/50, Absolute is good. Stay away from Sage/Press Pass

Topps Chrome, no doubt. UD and Absolute can be fun, and yield nice surprises from time to time, but Topps Chrome is more consistent.

I've been trying to lay off the blasters, as i buy them on impulse and usually end up with nothing - but i did pick up a Topps Chrome blaster recently and that was pretty good. My stack of rc's was actually double the stack of commons - it was pretty much a 3:1 ratio of inserts/rc's/refractors to base. So at least there's a bit of value there.
I also got the Sage high earlier this year. You do get the 2 autos (mine were A. Cason, M. Puriffy) but the thing i didn't like was that the autos were sandwiched between the packs (which i didnt know) so as soon as i saw those the break was pretty much over, because the actual packs only contain base cards and 1 glossy per pack, as theres no chance at any other inserts or additional autos in the packs which was a bit of a dissapointment from a "fun" standpoint">

I think you are better off saving your money for hobby box packs than spending it on retail.

Definately Topps Chrome.
Retail Upper Deck sucks in that rookies are few and far between. Hobby has four per pack.
Retail Absolute is not much better. It looks like all the nice jerseys and autos are reserved for hobby. The jersey will most likely be a retail Rookie Jersey Collection.
Forget Press Pass and Sage altogether.

I agree with everything you said but this. The Upper Deck rookies in the blasters fall 2 per pack, and sometimes 3 if you get a SP where it is common to get 1 and sometimes even 2 per box.
