I went to the Creation museum in Kentucky this past weekend. I had a good time, and enjoyed it. It explained a lot, answered a lot of questions, and I recommend it for anyone that is into it. Back on topic though. I have heard this saying many times, and know it's a passage from the bible I think, could you tell me where it is. "Deny me in front of your friends, and i will deny you in front of my father". It may not be worded exactly like that, but thats how i've been told a million times.

Here's a question I bet you won't be able to answer...the process of salvation in your religion, as I understand it, entails the following:
1. You are evil because you are not perfect, and as far as god is concerned, a 4-year-old stealing cookies is on the same ethical ground as Stalin and Mao. Even if you don't live long enough to do anything wrong, you're still evil because of something Adam and Eve did 6000 years ago and somehow that transfers to you because of "original sin."
2. You deserve to go to hell for being evil.
3. Jesus went to hell on your behalf, and everyone else's.
4. Jesus came back to life after 3 days and went to heaven.
5. If you accept this, you don't have to go to hell.
6. Otherwise, you spend eternity in hell.
So, the question is, if we deserve to spend eternity in hell and will certainly do so if we don't accept this Jesus guy's "gift," why did HE only have to spend three days there? If he really went there on my behalf, shouldn't he have to take the same punishment that's coming to me? Why isn't he still down there? Unless you actually contend that I'll only have three days worth of hell coming to me when I die, and I've never heard a single Christian say that, it doesn't seem consistent to me.
Oh, and don't try that line about "a day in hell is like eternity," because eternity means forever, never ending, and yet you contend that Jesus's time in hell DID end. So even if a day in hell time equals a million years in earth time, that's still not eternity.

1.) You are NOT evil because you are not perfect. You are simply not perfect. There are also levels of sin. Perpetrating genocide on a race is not the same as stealing a piece of gum when you are a small child. As far as Adam and Eve... that is simply original sin. If you are baptised it goes away. If you die as a baby before being baptised, you do NOT go to hell.
2.) Correct, though this depends on the definition of evil
3.) Jesus never went to hell
4.) Pretty much correct... though he did of course appear on earth again
5.) Incorrect, you must not be sinful, and you must be truly repentent of the sins you did commit
6.) Yes... under the terms of MY number 5 and not yours

That's not an answer.
And if Jesus never went to hell, then he did an even worse job than I thought of dying for my sins.

Hmm... alright.
1.) if you want an answer, give me a specific question and not a list of "points"
2.) what branch of christianity are you pulling your conception of Jesus' "death" from?
