3 Rings of Death!
Anybody ever got them for their 360? I got em yesterday, and I spent a lot of time this morning looking for the best solution. (My warranty ran out on the 12th, which made me really unhappy) I found this thing called the x clamp fix, and it worked! I hope it is a permanent fix, or at least lasts longer than the towel fix. I went out and bought the supplies at Radioshack and a local hardware store for $10, and spent 2 hours taking apart the entire thing, making the fixes, and then putting it back together. It was a lengthy and boring process, but it saved $190, so that's sweet. Anybody else ever gotten the RROD? And what method did you use?

If you call microsoft about it they will send you a box and then you send your xbox in the box to microsoft. They will fix it for free because it is not just a normal wear and tear sort of thing. It is a factory flaw and the will fix it for free.

Just call Microsoft. They cover the 3 rings of death most of the time, even if you are without a warranty. I think as long as it is within 3 years of the purchase or something like that. I've had to send mine in twice and it was replaced for free both times and I never purchased any type of warranty.
