Looking for comments/input on this card
i dealt for this card a while back not realizing its value. it is a greg maddux 2005 fleer america's national pastime blue parallel that should be numbered 1/1 because of the parallel. there is a piece of tape for the serial numbering on the back but there is no numbering making it an error of a 1/1. does this error increase the value or how does that work? Also am interested in trading or selling although value is hard to determine. would need another 1/1 or similar. i collect vlad, soriano, big papi, hamels, kemp, hanley, and lincecum.

First of all, I am not an expert. I am just a collector who has tried to pay attention to what is going on in the hobby. It has been my experience that error cards in general have very little following, thus making it very hard to judge what the value should be on any given error card. I don't know who said it, but there is a famous saying; "the value of an item is what the seller and buyer can agree upon"! My advise is to test the waters, you might find some one that really wants the card due to the error factor.
That being said, I happen to collect Greg Maddux, and I would love to trade for it, but I can tell you right off that I would not be willing to give up a 1/1 card to get it. I don't know that I have anything you would be interested in, but if you want to look through my bucket, we might be able to work something out!

oh and why wouldn't you trade a 1/1 for a 1/1 if you had one i wanted to trade for? an error definitely does not take away value so i dont know how a 1/1 for a 1/1 wouldnt be equal

Actually I remembered that I do have a 1/1, and I think that I would be willing to trade it for the Maddux. It's the 07 M & M Zimmerman Red parallel, located here:

I really want to give up any of those three for the Maddux. I do however understand if you are not interested..... Thanks, Dave.......

actually, that error does take away from the value of it. Who's to say there aren't 1000 of those floating around. It's the 1/1 stamp that makes it valuable, not the lack of.

i dont think id do it for the zimmerman just because its a moments and their hardly worth anything and did you say you would or wouldnt trade one of those three? i think you left off a dont. and i suppose i see your point with the error but i highly doubt there are 1000 out there i have seen thousands of 1/1s but never a card that was supposed to be 1/1 not stamped but its not really a huge deal

This is not an error it is from the fleer auction. thousands of cards liek this were sold without the stamping, who knows how many of the unstamped maddux cards were sold. I would not advertise this as a 1/1 unless it was stamped
