    Have fun Ryan!
I'm bringing my son to his first game on Thursday...not sure if I'll have him try and get any autographs, but I'm looking forward to it.

eat before you go- NBA food prices are even more ridiculous than NFL or MLB. Other than that, as others have said- just have a good time, and expect a pretty good game- NBA arenas are in general really up tempo, so expect a lively crowd
    Ed

yeah dallas is pretty lively crowd, the food is pricey but it's good atleast. have fun, probably can't be as exciting as the 29 point comeback game i went to and hopefully they don't have to scrap one out this time, have fun.

I'm a bigger fan of football and baseball, but going to a basketball game is more fun than either of them. Especially in Dallas, they have a nice arena and atmosphere. Have fun!

Like most people said, get there early. My advice though, is don't get there too early, especially if it is cold outside. I went to the Bobcats vs. Cavs game in Charlotte about a month ago, we had some friends drop us off in downtown Charlotte 2 hours before game time, we walked to the Arena and ended up waiting outside for an hour in 20 degree weather waiting for the doors to open.

Thanks guys! Weather should be good so we shouldn't have to worry about waiting around outside. The Mavs website actually gives tips on how to get autographs. They say that all fans are allowed down to the court in a certain section before the game starts. I'm gonna get there ASAP and see if I can get some autos.

Thanks for the comments and I'll keep you all posted on how it goes!

Not much left to say that hasn't already been said, but I've been to tons of BB/FB/BKB games, and I enjoy going to basketball games much more than anything else. I'm sure you'll have a blast!

Like Ed said, there's just so much more excitement/energy at a basketball game than at a football/baseball game.
