not at Obama or his place as president. He has my respect regardless of if I agree with his views. I shake my head because while bush's first inauguration was filled with protests and people throwing eggs at passing cars, Obama has had a week of parties. I know that Obama supporters will just say it is hard feelings but people (democrats/media/etc) have acted like we welcoming the son of god, rather than the representative of the people.
It is just a reminder of the vast differences in the two parties. The commentary from media and individuals have made this time seem like more than a president. All we have appointed is the leader of this country elected to represent me and my family. Not the savior of the world.
* For the record, I know Bush had parties as well, they all do. But the coverage of the inauguration this time has not mirrored previous administrations.

The coverage is definitely more substantial than it has ever been but I think that is because of the history surrounding it, not the liberally biased media.
The fact is he is the first African-American president (granted not 100% black). That is something many people thought would never happen. The crowds alone show people understand the significance of it.
It is more than just electing a new president, it is history.

u mean Obama is not the sun of God?
regardless of what you or others think...Bush had eggs thrown at his car because he hijacked the White House. I guess they just knew he was going to be the worst president in the history of our country, and felt like welcoming him appropriately.

I watched some of it. He went to Occidental College in California in 1979.

lol...fat chance
u dont seriously think thats even possible do you? You've been watching too many Patrick Swayze movies...Red Dawn isn't real
I tell you what tho...If I ever saw the taliban rolling down my street trying to occupy my country, they'd be calling me an insurgent or a terrorist, because I'd be fighting back no question.
also, your world became a lot less free in the last 8 years, thanks to El Presidente Bush

i personally think that kerry would've ran and hid and let them take over our country because he's a wimp...and honestly do you think that bush had any effect on anything...the president doesn't control gas prices, the economy, inflation and many other things one bit but liberals like to think that republican presidents do and democrat presidents don't...seems odd to me...

I'm disappointed I was in class and missed this today. However, today is a great day to be an American as we have the ushering in of a new era. The last 8 years was only approved by about 22% of the population and that is why there are parties everywhere.
However, the comment made about terrorists running the country if Bush was never elected? That's very far from realistic thinking.

If he didn't have an effect on anything then why do you give him credit for keeping us a safe and free country?
I'm no Kerry fan and wanted Bush to win over him but I highly doubt any person that cares about this country would let anyone take the country over. To accuse someone of such disloyalty when that someone ran for the highest office in this country and actually served his country is completely asinine.
