I never said drug testing would end welfare. Welfare will end when people stop feeling that they are owed something. The sense of entitlement that is prevalent in this country is seriously out of control.
What drug testing would do though is eliminate some of dead weight from the system that feel the need to spend their food money on drugs.Hidden Content

I totally agree the less government involvement in your day to day life is always better. I look at the government as more of a protector then a provider. I expect it to protect my rights but not to provide everything for me.

you stated that i have the world knowledge of a child...ha...what led you to say that? just admit that it's because you disagree with me...i've already stated previously that i think the system should be revamped and that people who abuse the system or commit fraud should be removed or prosecuted
but once again you have stated a theory...
...with absolutely nothing to back it up. i have already stated the reasons why i dont believe a drug test would improve the system or even "remove the dead weight"....what reasons lead you to believe the opposite?
you're just saying the same thing the email in post #1 said, without any theories on how it would save us money or why drug testing would work...i feel like we're just going in circles

Really you don't understand how not giving money to those who test positive for drugs would save money?
It is pretty simple if you test positive for drugs you should no longer receive benefits, pretty simple huh?
I will try to help you out in your argument though (since it is very hard to understand your point). I think you are saying the cost of the drug testing would outweigh the savings from removing the offenders from the program, which I disagree with.

Why not? I think this is a hell of a idea. If the people getting this assistance have nothing to hide why should it matter?

This is getting a little out of hand...we've discussed the issue and now resorted to insulting each other. Thread closed.
