Charges against George Obama dropped

All charges against George Obama, half-brother to U.S. President Barack Obama, have been dropped after his arrest in a drug raid, according to police in Kenya.

He was released on Saturday hours later, police added.

Obama was arrested in a Nairobi slum, and he was picked up with people who possessed marijuana, said police spokesman Eric Kiraithe.

"Being found with people who are in possession of cannabis is a petty offense," Kiraithe said.

Earlier, police had told CNN that Obama had been arrested for possessing cannabis and resisting arrest, which can carry a sentence of up to a year in jail or hefty fines.

how does one choose to be around a half brother or an aunt? One doesn't usually get to choose his family. Also I thought his half brother still lived in Kenya. I doubt we'll see him be up for any job in washington.

as for the appointments, they are no longer up for their positions as should be.

i guess getting busted with marijuana makes you a liar, cheat, criminal or racist? as far as his brother George...he's met him once in his life that we've heard about...that hardly qualifies as surrounding himself with him

I have a friend who, until recently, worked for a number of years in the White House...it is amazing to hear his take on the events of the past 8 years...its as if there are two parallel universes...With him I have always referred to them as fantasy and reality, we argue which one of us occupies "reality"...

#1 - I didn't say he chose his family. I said he chose to surround himself with liars, cheats and outright criminals. The family thing I was getting at is that he came from a bad bushel, for him it's acceptable.

#2 - You're just plain wrong.

#3 - The worst kind of warped thinking you get from hanging with low lifes is the mindset that it's normal and okay to do bad things. Ever had any dealings with recovered alcoholics or drug addicts you'd know exactly what I mean. Ask a drug addict and almost all of them will tell you that when they were using they thought everybody else used too.
