Yeah, the Halloween remake was great, that is one of the rare cases where the remake is as good, if not better than the original. I can't wait for the new Friday the 13th, but it's different than the original, since the killer is Jason right off the bat, and in the original it was his mother

I think that's the key to a good remake- approaching the same idea from a different angle. The Halloween remake focused more on the origin of Michael Meyers and that worked.

that's what i liked about it. The original never went in depth as to how he became the way he did, and the remake focused on it.

I saw an interview with Rob Zombie where he talked about how fascinated some people in our country are with serial killers. He noticed that people aren't necessecarily attracted to the acts, but what lead up to the acts. What could cause a person to turn into a monster? That's the approach he wanted to take with the Halloween remake. It worked well, because even though it was a remake, it added to the story.

Hopefully some of those movies you listed find a director with a similar vision.

I too am actually one of the people fascinated by serial killers, as you mentioned, more for the reason as to why they become that way. I heard there were talks of making a part 2, but that Zombie may not be involved

Yours, Mine, and Ours was a remake wasn't it? I didn't see the original.

My little sister and some of her friends are going to see Friday the 13th remake when it comes out Friday because it's her bitrhday.
