alexander nor westbrook deserve the spot imo. westbrook is good but is the same as nate robinson imo when it comes to dunking. carney, josh smith, iguodala, and a few others come to mind.

Well regardless of how Westbrook or Alexander play, that has nothing to do with this. Obviously Westbrook is a better player than Alexander. However, Alexander is a better dunker. I don't think that can even be argued. If anyone can dig up any good Westbrook dunks besides the in-game one from UCLA then I'll take a look at them. But its not even close as far as power, ups, and creativity go

I guess its because I come from the old school too, in the fact that its not as impressive to me to see a 6' 9" guy dunk, as it is to see a 6' 3" guy flush on somebody.

I'd like to see Westbrook or Rodney Carney in Gay's place, if he does miss the contest.

comparing him to one other player doesnt make him worthy of a dunk competition spot.

which makes him exactly like nate. we dont need 2.

Only reason was comparing Joe and Russell is because it was already brought up by someone else and those are the 2 names being thrown around for Gay's replacement? So tell me exactly again why they can't be compared?

Carney won't happen, they're very clear on keeping Timberwolves out of the weekend's festivities.

Too bad, too. He could've been pretty amazing.

    Edit:
My dream dunk contest right now would be:
    Carney
    LeBron
Vince Carter (Bring him back, he's probably still got a lot more skill than some of these guys!)
    Jason Richardson

Those are cool dunks...but its not in a game situation, and they arent playing defense. You can find a ton of guys in ghettos all across America that can throw down like that.
