Also, sub 4 would be very impressive..I think the all-time record is 3:40 something. No woman has ever run a sub 4..best all-time was some Russian girl at 4:12 or thereabouts.

You can't sprint a mile. Heak, you can't sprint 1/4 of a mile.

yes, i know i couldnt do 1/4 either, my point is i wasnt jogging the whole time either

I usually run it in around 7 1/2 min, but the fastest i've ever done was like 6:10

Yes. The key is to run regularly and gradually increase your time for each run. When I first started last year, I couldn't even run a 12 minute mile, but I kept at it until I could do almost 8. By missing a few weeks with an infection, I need to build it up again.
