stood up and do what? get shot? people were moving tables and other barriers in front of doors to try and prevent him from getting into their room. what more would you want them to do? throw books at him?

Yeah I understand some people COULDNT do anything even if they wanted to. But if one student had a gun or something, maybe they couldve stopped him. These students were out-armed, because its illegal (i think) to carry a gun on campus. But the murderer was able to bring one on because he was breaking the law anyway, so now 32 people are dead.

But I get what your post meant, and you're right. Some students were unable to do anything. But when stuff goes like this I just think about the heroes on UA Flight 93. And yes I know its different, but still.

I think this is a very good post, but I also think there may be more people who want to make guns illegal than you think. Or maybe you just consider them all insane, which I can't really argue with...

I didn't mean they aren't out there, I just meant I've never run into any on this site. And they're not necessarily all insane; a lot of them are probably just over-idealistic and poorly informed. Regardless, I think they are an embarrassment to real patriots and people who really appreciate the freedoms US citizens have, and I viciously resent being compared to them, like Mike did.

Understandable and that's exactly my opinion on those people, over-idealistic and poorly informed. In a rare instance, you and I agree exactly on this issue...should we hug it out?

I haven't seen anyone in this thread say that....

With that said I would love for guns to not exist, if I was president and I thought the country would be able to handle a ban on guns I would outlaw it. However in the world we live that isn't possible and because of that I respect the second amendment. I would however like stricter gun control laws and stricter enforcement on unregistered guns etc.

If you banned all weapons and were actually able to regulate that, it would become who has the bigger stick.

you liberals all need to grow up and face the facts that the robber got what was coming to him. He committed a crime and paid the price for it. This also saves the taxpayers money on a trail and paying for the robber to be in jail. the bad part is now the costumer will have a lawsuit by the robbers family and will end up losing everything in the civil suit. How can you bleeding heart liberals even defend this guy? He brought it on himself. No one forced him to rob the place. Instead of putting the blame on the robber its the shooter fault for not letting the guy get away. Its reasoning like this that keeps the crime rate up. I for one feel the shooter is a hero and hope more people will step up and do the same thing.

I couldn't have said it better myself...these lefty libs kill me....Ted Nugent For President!

I'll be the first to say I'm anti-gun. For my take on it, find the thread from about 5 months ago. Gator--this is the first thing we've disagreed on!

It irks me that any John Wayne who takes the law into his (most are males) own hands is deemed a hero. His intentions were pure, but they put everyone's lives at risk.

I'm opposite of a liberal but I disagree completely with your comment. Something like this by the customer is not called for, he is NOT a hero. People can't go around with guns trying to be vigilante's if they see a problem. If people were carrying around guns there would be a lot more people hurt, basic arguments and confrontations could all of a sudden become deadly. Cities would start to look like Grand Theft Auto.
