This is the perfect set to lose 50% in value over the next year. Way overpriced.

It may lose some, but nowhere near 50%. Given how scarce it became so quickly, it's not as if we're going to be seeing people cracking open cases of it in a year's time like you can with just about any other product out there. Some of the autos have definitely cooled off, but the big names and the SPs will always stay hot.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

Rarity will stay, but the demand will drop because newer products will be released. The print run is low, a lot of short prints, but higher-end products offer rarer cards. With a lower demand, prices will automatically drop on markets like eBay. On card show, some dealers can decide to hold on their cards until they got their prices, but on an auction pattern the lower demand will affect the ending price in my opinion.

I'm actually really impressed how much value has been in this product. I've opened 1 box, and 1 tin of it..... and unlike any other box I can remember.... my cards are worth roughly what I paid for the box. I didn't lose 50% of the value just by opening.

I agree on this about the value of the box/tin versus the value of the cards inside.

I wholeheartedly agree. Even if you don't pull an auto or jersey out of your tin, you're still going to get $3 per insert and $15-$20 for your banner. It's possibly the best bang for your buck product UD's put out in the last several years - they certainly hit a home run catering to us Habs fans with this one!

I'm no Habs fan..... not even close. I thought the idea of the set was pretty cool, so I bought a box within a week (or so) of when they came out. (Wish I'd bought all 5 that the store had left. Getting them for $100 CND now is impossible).
I got two Autos with a combined BV of $50, a Jersey that lists for $15, and one of the #/100 parallels (let's say $5 on it). Then I've got 24 SPs.... worth between $3 and $15 each.... so let's say $3.... just to stay on the low end. The SPs alone from that first box are worth $72..... the hits (I didn't get anyone very good) are worth another $70...... and then there's still my base.
And like you said, the Tins are good too. At $3 per SP..... I get $30 worth of cards right away, plus $15-$20 for the banner, plus all the base. I was a little annoyed at the $45 cost (considering I paid $99 for the hobby box) but still not bad at all, when you compare it to virtually any other product from the last few years.

Well no you're not a Habs fan, but if you decide to move what you've pulled, you'll easily be able to find a willing taker.
And let's be real here: this set was made with me, and people like me, in mind! LOL

If you were a Canadiens fan it will never lose it's value!
