Just stop with this. You are embarrassing yourself. The whole reason the best member contest was popular was because for everyone involved in it, it was one giant circle jerk, ego stroking, narcissistic contest, much like what you are trying to do with this thread. People spammed every section of this forum for a few measly votes so they could feel that much better about there lives, because they are liked on an internet message board.

Do the contests need to stop? Maybe, and they will eventually. But this topic is by far more pointless than any of those will ever be.

We've had lots of these contests/polls for quite some time now. I don't see any problem with any of them. If people are interested, they will respond. There always seems to be at least some interest in all of them, so it's no biggie. I thought your favorite poster one turned out rather fun (I don't think anyone cares deeply about being liked on an internet forum, but it was still entertaining), but that doesn't preclude any other types of contests/polls being run.

I think he's saying that you are trying to make it seem like you started the whole poles/contests ideas, and you are embarassing yourself because you think you started it but you didn't.

exactly, it got annoying. as if "nice break" or "thanks for sharing" wasnt annoying enough in EVERY thread someone posts in, they had to be sure to add "and remember to vote for me in the favorite member contest :)" it was incredibly annoying
