thanks for all the answers guys, by the looks of what advice Im getting, I think I will continue to collect him. Its just that I havent been able to add any good cards of his lately, its been kind of discouraging. I guess I just have to keep thinking that I will never get all of his cards but I should try my best to get as many as I can

Don't get discouraged :)
Joe Thornton is obviously on a different plane of existance in the hobby, than Bill Ranford is..... but I will often go months without finding anything new for the collection.
When it gets harder and harder to find stuff you need, it's that much sweeter when you do pick up something.

Collect high end only. It makes it a ton easier not having to worry about all the low end junk. Plus if you ever want to get rid of them they are actually worth something.

that is basically my problem, all the high end stuff is way to expensive for me. I dont think Ive mentioned this but I am a 16 year old teenager still in High School with no job so getting good cards is very difficult now a days

You gotta get to the first round in order to choke though

i'd take a number 5 pick over being the top seed in the nhl and choking to a team who really shouldnt have made the playoffs and had a rookie goalie.

thats not true, anaheim could have easily made like fourth or fifth place if they didnt mess up the first half of their season and sharks didnt really choke, they just continued their streak, they were actually less then 500 in the second half of the season so I wasnt expecting much in the playoffs, I believe the exact record for the second half of their season was 16-19-6
