No Don not the same teams at all, wings gained a 40 goal scorer and only improved, Penguins lost many young core players and downgraded in talent, plus lost hossa and picked up old past their prime veterans. The have had no real test in the East, and they know the winged wheel is waiting for them, whole different monster.

I just wanted to see what they had to say. As the guys to Tampa. Of course a big defection by Hossa who played well for Just wanted a explanation why we will be pummeled. Perhaps it will happen but what evidence or argument are thry throwing out to defend the statement they made.
Take care Don!!

Ouch, yeah I can just imagine how deflating it would have felt to be there. I was at a preseason game where the Bruins just killed the Habs - it would have been 10x worse for a playoff game.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

This will be my only post about this. Now that we have seen the "non-biased" opinion on why the pens are worse than last year, i'll give you the "non-biased" opinion on why they are just as good if not better.
"Penguins lost many young core players and downgraded in talent."
I'm guessing your talking about 8 million dollar man Ryan Malone right? Or maybe Jarkko Ruutu (a stretch)? Or Big George(an even bigger stretch)?
Ryan Malone meet Ruslon Fedatenko.
Through three playoff rounds Malone had 14pts (6G 8A) Fedatenko has (5G 5A). Buggsy you have been replaced. Look for Tenk to surpass Malone's 16pt total for last years playoffs, the Malkin, Tenk, Talbot line is really starting to gel. Now if Max can put the puck in the net a little more.
Jarkko Ruutu meet Matt Cooke.
Through three playoff rounds Ruutu had 3pts (2G 1A) Cooke (1G 6A)
Jarkko you have been replaced.
Finally Big George meet Eric Goddard
Trhough three rounds .... Oh who am i kidding if they guys arent beating someone down on the ice their best contribution is a healthy scratch.
"plus lost hossa"
No arguement there it was a loss. Although it has not seemed to bother these guys too much. Hossa made the East a cakewalk last year and they never faced any adversity and i think that did them in at the end. This year this team as a whole seems a lot more confident, being handed some tough situations and responding very very well. This is an intangable called expirence that this group finnally has and its showing so far and has been making a huge difference.
"and picked up old past their prime veterans."
Miro Satan 5pts 10 Games .5 ppg
Billy G 13pts 16 Games .81 ppg
Marion Hossa 12pts 15 games .8 ppg
Pavel Datsyuk 7pts 13 games .53 ppg
Maybe you should take it upon yourself to let them know they are washed up, because they seem to be hanging in there with the young guys ok.
On one final note, i would recomend a dose of humility before its too late for you red wings fans (those who this is intended for know who they are) because the last time a fan base was this cocky about their next championship before it was won were the fans of the New England Patriots before Super Bowl 42.

I don't wanna get rude but the Hossa-Datsyuk comparison with Satan and Guerin is stupid. Hossa is not only putting points on the boards , he is also a great defensive player and he's often opposed to the other team 1st line. Same with Datsyuk , even if he's not having his best playoffs yet. I dont care about if the Pens lost some forwards or gained some....defense win championship and did Pittsburgh get better in the back end ? Hall Gill , Orpik and Scuderi are better get ready because Detroit is nowhere near than being Carolina.
P.s. : I'm not a Wings fan

Why is it stupid? I can't possibly compare defense through statistics. Besides it was hardly the point of the comparison. Datsyuk and Hossa when snake bit usually put up, what let say, average-above average NHL scoring numbers? And that was THE WHOLE POINT, since i'm refuting the claim that they are OVER THE HILL NHLers. They are producing at very competant level AND THAT WAS THE POINT!!! Sorry for the caps i just wish people would read and comprehend sometimes. This is not about who will win the cup, i don't get ahead of my self, just a response to bias Detroit opions about the Pens.

Didnt the pens lose ryan whitney as well?
Also you know Marian Hossa will not let the wings lose the stanley cup final. This is basically what marian hossa's entire season comes down to. Switching to the team that he lost to last year to rematch the team he left for the cup. I think Marian Hossa will be out for blood and play amazing and prove to everyone that he made the right decision, otherwise he will look like a complete idiot.
Oh...and also the wings are better than the penguins in every aspect, and it will be so much fun to watch Cindy cry again.
