Question for team collectors

I don't really pay that much attention to it. Take the case of a guy like Alex Tanguay, whom I've grabbed a few items of this season. He may be gone come July 1st, so there will not be a lot of cards of his where he's pictured as a Canadiens player. I've got some pretty cool patches of his from his Colorado and Calgary days, and it doesn't diminish how I feel about them just because he's in a different jersey. If I took that route, my Gorges PC would be miniscule!

yeah for my player PC such as Messier I collect him from all teams Oilers, Rangers, Canucks, Team Canada whatever, even though Im a Rangers fan. If I was spending big bucks on like an auto or a patch or something, I would probably be more inclined if he were in a Rangers jersey, but for lower end stuff im down for it all. The problem with Messier stuff is that all the good stuff is very expensive. I added Lundqvist to collect but im finding that his higher end stuff is also very expensive compared to other players. So I am going to expand to try to collect all the stuff from each set that comes from the Rangers, that way if I can't afford that Lundqvist #/15 Auto Patch from the set, I can still get some stuff from the set, like maybe a high end Drury or Marc Staal or something.

What about those oddballs that might not be licenses so they cannot show the player in a NHL jersey. There not much of those today but in the past man talk about the oddballs that were printed.

Good question and as with all things will be answers on one spectrum or the other.

I just collect anything of who is on the current team. For instance I have a Dominic Moore GU, but he's pictured with the Rangers I believe

yeah i thought of that but with my team being the Rangers, the only player that you can really be 75% sure will be there next year is Lundy. Basically everyone else is on the trading block at the end of every year, lol. Kinda crappy not having a few franchise guys to pick from, seems like as soon as someone starts showing potential Sather hurries to trade them away for another guy who's either washed up or on his way out or both. IE Redden, Naslund, Drury... Dont get me wrong they were great in their prime, they are just past it..

I collect if a base card has player pictured in a habs jersey or player has old team jersery but has the habs logo on the card .
ex...Ryder's early cards this year some had just habs some had picture habs jersery but Boston logo on card so i still got them...some like Lang had chi no habs logo didn't include in team set....GU only habs jersery with a habs picture no
ex.....Riberio Dallas card with Montreal colours a no go for me or a habs Samsonov card with Boston or Edm colours......
