I dont think i would want a guy like Heater in buffalo either but it would be interesting.

As for your lines, they look good for sure but I hate Paille getting stuck on the 4th line. Im not expecting him to be a first line guy but I think he should be on the 3rd line. He hasnt had a chance to play to his potential due to being stuck on the 4th line (I may have some bias lol). Paille also isnt a RW, hes a LW, and has played some center but not RW so I think that would have to be slighlty different. Also, I like Mancari but dont think he'll be 3rd line next year. probably more like 4th or in Portland but i could be wrong.

Love the look of your D-pairings though. Would love to see a #1 pairing with Myers/Rivet (If, of course, Myers is ready). Also interesting to see where Sekera will be next year. He improved ALOT last year and I think he was our best D-man at times.

That 2nd line looks DEADLY lol

I'm not sure I would either, but I'm tired of the makeup of this team, it might not be the right move, but I'd like to at least see a pulse from HSBC arena.

    But think about this

    Stafford-Roy-Vanek
    Heatley-Connolly-Pommers
    Mancari-Kennedy-Gerbe
    Kaleta-Goose-Paille

    Myers-Rivet
    Sekera-Montador
    Tallinder-Lydman

Mair, Paetsch and Schubert is your depth

    just a thought

    I don't want DANY YASHIN.

Trade you a baby bottle straight up and throw in some pampers for good measure.

Why would it be so bad to deal one of those guys? I agree that both of them might an overpayment.... but does anyone expect either Filatov or Brassard to become as good of a player as Heatley is?

It was the same thing when he was first rumored to be going to Edmonton. There was a lot of people saying "Cogliano and Gagner should be non-starters". Really? Becuase neither one of those guys will likely ever be as good as Heatley.

Whoever trades for Danny is getting a superstar winger. No one is going to get him for a bag of pucks. A stud prospect / young star (like Cogliano, Filatov, or Brassard) is exactly the kiind of trade that any deal for Heatley is going to be build around.

eklund's playing the game now I see...

all I will say is if Columbus deal EITHER Filatov or Brassard, Howson should get his head examined

i think the problem with trading for heatley is the cap hit. $7.5 is a ton right now. i don't know how many years he has left on that deal, but there aren't many teams that will take that hit and give up a couple of good, young players.
