I would choose Eric Gordon, but DJ Augustin has huge potential as well. Either player would be a good choice to start a collection of.

Augustin is definately not a better shooter than EJ. EJ has unlimited range, too.

Eric Gordon is definately the better player now and will always be. He's a superstar waiting to happen if he can just get off the bad luck Clippers team. No way does D.J. Augustin come close to Gordon.

Do you ever read a thing called stats? If you look at Dj Augustin's 3pt% its quite a bit higher than Gordon's for the 08-09 season. Also for a guy who cant dunk his FG% is really high, because he has an excellent mid-range game. Gordon just slashes alot and dunks.
You cant say a player is going to be a Superstar because you saw a couple nice highlights on ESPN. Did you even watch one Clippers game last year? I know you didnt see one on TNT or ESPN because the Clips were so bad. Im in Phoenix and we played them atleast 3 times. I saw Gordon in action, full games.
Gordon got points and minutes because he was the only option most games. If Augustin had as much playing time and shots as Gordon his numbers would have killed Gordon's.

    biased opinion: D.J. Augustin
    unbiased opinion: Eric Gordon

That doesn't help much does it?

Yes I watched a bunch of Clipps games last year, and plus I'm from Indiana and watched every college game as well for EJ. I also have watched a bunch of Bobcats/Texas games for Augustin. Apparently you don't know too much about EJ's NBA game as he doesn't "slash and dunk" as much as you think. Go through his game logs and check out his 3-point shots and such, maybe do a little extra homework and look at where all his shots come from and you'll realize that they aren't all 2 feet and in like you say. Gordon the ONLY option? I belive there's a bunch more high-quality players on the Clippers than there is the Bobcats even, though their record is so bad (a part of that is from being in the West). The Clipps had Kaman, Camby, Baron Davis, DeAndre Jordan, Steve Novak, Thornton, Mike Taylor (who did have a pretty good rookie year too), etc. It's not like Gordon was the only real scoring option at all times. And I guess if Augustin would have killed Gordon's numbers, he'd actually have to get playing time as you said...but if he couldn't beat out Raymond Felton and/or get enough shots/touches then I guess he's not good enough to deserve them like Gordon has. There is a reason that Gordon was drafted ahead of D.J. and had a more prestigious college career than D.J. And also, Gordon never really got quality playing time until January when Baron Davis was injured and he went off after that...and finished out the season like that. Augustin, if I recall correctly, had about the same role (maybe even starting somewhat?) at the beginning of the season and got injured, and then never got that starting position back.

look at the Clippers players individually...compare them with the Bobcats players individually. I definately believe that there is better individual talent on the Clippers than there is on the Bobcats.

If a player is injured often like Baron Davis, Marcus Camby, Zach Randolph or Chris Kaman that makes them less talented. Also those players are washed up and no longer as talented as they once were.

Maybe if those players were healthy and younger the Clippers would have more talent. The only solid players on the Clippers last year were Thorton and Gordon. This year its gonna be Thorton, Gordon, and Griffin. Still weak.

Dude there is a reason that the Clippers were the VERY worst team in basketball last year, and the Bobcats just barely missed the playoffs.
