lol... yep...
I was plenty ticked off about losing the claim, trust me... but then when all 3 levels of customer/claims support told me that their agenda is to find in favor of the buyer in these cases, well, I went through the roof!

I was the seller and they found in my favor. But it wasn't necessarily because of paypal. I think that I made such a persuasive argument, that the buyer simply couldn't argue anymore and didn't respond - so I won by default.

The whole situation is mind blowing, someone filing a claim because they didn't like the condition of a graded card? You knew what to expect when you bid on the card. People like that need a swift kick to the sac.
I'm assuming you got your card back, correct?
Funny, a similar situation happened to my buddy at the beginning of the year. He sold a Ronnie Brown Leaf Limited NFL logo patch on ebay, sent the card and the buyer filed a claim that he never received. It was my friends fault he lost the claim, he didn't use DC, I scolded him and he has learned his lesson. The worst part is, a week after the buyer gets his money back and still has the card, he lists the card under the same ebay ID, just like Wheeler's guy. Only this tool doesn't hide it in a lot and uses the exact same title in the auction my buddy did. He called paypal, they didn't care and don't understand cards at all.
A total pipe dream, but would it kill paypal to take some of the enormous fee income they rake in and establish some departments based on ebay categories? These departments could deal with specific types of auctions so people who make decisions over there actually know something about the products people are selling.

Yes they don't understand cards at all and it is their bread and butter. By the sounds of it I will not be winning either. That is ok my account can stay in negative balance. I refuse to give in for they do not report to credit bureau and have no ways of getting the funds they stole from me. I will just will take check or postal money orders from now on on my sales. Might affect my sales I expect less then 5% which is off set by not having paypal fees and hassle. So who cares

This fascinates me. May I ask how long ago this claim occurred?

I have won one paypal claim as a seller but it was more or less by default on the buyer. He wasn't happy with the card but refused to send it back to me. After paypal told him to return the card he stopped posting messages to me and them. I really don't understand how they could rule in his favor since the card was graded. I think I'd call them back and explain he knew what he was getting since the card was graded. Paypal used to be an ebay company, thats why ebay won't do anything about it.

i have won a few claims as a seller i print all of my shipping labels using paypal (saves me a ton of $$) and had ppl tell me they never recieved the card. I call paypal tell them i printed the labels thru paypal, they check the tracking and then award in my favor. Sorry to hear about your situation!! IDK what I would do!!

I should have clarified. Delivery/non-delivery claims are probably a bit different. Delivery confirmation kinda takes care of that, unless you run into a situation like Wheeler's. I'm curious if any sellers have won a case where the buyer claimed the item was "significantly not as described". This is where paypal will find on the side of the buyer in virtually all cases.

I used paypal shipping as well. However it only should as received in at the post office when I dropped it of but never delivered. That being said he sold the card yesterday and I proved that to them and still lost. They go after the guy that has given them nothing but buisness (2567 feedback) and let a thief get away with it. So like I sadi I will only take money order and check. The money I might lose in people not bidding is evened out by lack of fees
