Honest Question: What is WRONG with California?

I have always been stumped by California's financial problems.
Natural beauty, major industry (hollywood), tourist destination - it seems to have it all. So why are they always broke? Is it because the housing bubble burst worse there than anywhere? Immigration taxing the system too much?
You don't have to be pc, I can take the truth even if it's unpopular...thoughts?

What about the off-shore drilling they have, but wont drill? That would be a great income for them, plus jobs.

Those gosh darn Mexicans. And all our Jews are busy making money working in Hollywood, that leaves the rest of you gentiles to run the government, and lets be honest... us Jews know how to deal with money. Just ask JeRmZ.

Even though California is perceived as very "liberal" our state government can't agree on anything, because of that everything has just been piling up.

I haven't researched it, I pay little attention to anything out of Cali, so I really don't know.

I know it's not a constructive comment in any way and I don't claim it is, but I will say this: The most liberal state in the union is the one with the worst financial problems...I don't think that's a coincidence.

Its a majority population of people that dont pay taxes, but have and create needs and problems that require a lot of money. Nobody that runs on a platform of fiscal responsibilty can get elected. Its just too many people voting that have nothing vested in the game. cant really blame them now. They are too dependent on the handouts and programs.

I haven't done any research but I suspect electing a governor whose biggest accomplishment was being the Terminator may be part of the problem

This is a state that continues to vote for nancy Pelosi, waters, and Boxer. Arnold will go soon. The fact that the above 3 continue to be reelected is a real tragedy.
