Funny I found it for BIN for $14, just looks like a bad seller IMO.

its not what the card is worth its what the card is worth to the person who wants it.....

    That is a bit overpaying.

But I don't think that is shill bidding.

Sometimes certain card goest to really high because of two or three hardcore collectors.

That kinds work can be possible.

Funnily sometimes people doesn't use BIN option but bid too much because it started as 0.99 $.

Here is another overpaying case about Ewing card.
(I came across this card, yesterday.)

Here's a hint that I use since I have lost auctions or paid more since the seller was shill bidding.

Before you bid, click on the userID of the person with the highest bid. For example here is what the winning bidder's stats look like.

    30-Day Summary
    Total bids: 151
    Items bid on: 65
Bid activity (%) with this seller: 8%
    Bid retractions: 3
    Bid retractions (6 months): 3

Everything highlighted in red is a RED FLAG for me that shill bidding is occuring. In 30 days that same bidder had an 8% bid activity with the seller and retracted 3 bids.

I love the bid activity page. It really helps identify shill bidders. I wish it was publicized more.

I wouldn't say that they overpaid in that auction you posted for the ewing 96-97 ultra platinum........that card is super rare and the print run is less than 250 sets

ive never heard of shill bidding until the other day but from what i see i think thats a legit auction. ewing is one of those players that have a good fan base yet have only a few cards so it makes them appealing to player collectors. Just take a look at mourning, grant hill, barkley cards sometimes they go for high guide or double. Also that card can be pretty hard to find. i had a mitch richmond that i had a while back that i remember fetching some pretty good change.

    key2win-
thats some very good insight information. thanks for sharing ill use that when i bid

Based on the feedback (3,134 total seller feedback), and the bid activity with the seller (8%), the winning bidder has bid on this seller's auctions 250 times. Key2win is right; it's a clear indication of shill bidding.
