Not sure about those specifically, but as a general rule, never EVER click on a link in an email "from" PayPal. Scammers send out phishing emails that look exactly like an offical PayPal email, but the links go to their sites and they get your account info. If you get an email, actually type in www.PayPal.com in your address bar and sign in...if there's an issue with your account or messages, you'll be able to access them that way.

If you call Paypal, they can verify whether the emails you have been getting are legit or not.
The whole thing sounds like a scam to me. It sounds like a new twist on the classic "Nigerian" scam.
Whatever the case, I would get paypal involved.

No way to both. I'd say the scammers actually do have your old Zune in hand. But of course they won't admit it.

Did you sent the Zune out yet? I hope you didn't...never sell ANYTHING to Nigeria, ever. Log into PayPal by going to PayPal.com and see if you can see the transaction there. If not, you just lost a Zune and the money.

yeah man unfortunately I'd say your item is gone. The money was never there in the first place so you technically never had it. It's just a good thing you didn't send any money to them through western union or that would be gone too.
Just in case anyone else reads this .. wise words
These scammers also strike using people in the US, you will be contacted by them (Nigerians) and asked to sell an Item and they will pay extra for shipping if you would send it to an address in the US and then in turn that person would ship it to them overseas (Nigeria). People here do work with these scammers because the scammers let them keep a product here and there, no loss to them really!!
My basic rule of thumb ... I don't sell to anyone overseas period. It's saved me a lot of headache!

yeah, your only hope is with paypal giving you the money and not having a charge back if it's stolen.
like they said above Nigeria should have been all the read flag you needed. I'm guessing a used zune didn't sell for a ton of money so I'd just chalk it up to a fairly cheap lesson.
