Is the economy REALLY getting better?
The Obama administration will overspend by nearly $2 trillion by October. President Obama claims the economy is leveling off and stabilizing. The numbers do back him, but isn't the fix just temporary? What happens when the government STOPS over spending by $2 trillion or more that 4 times the Bush administration?
The Obama administration is projecting that when the current budget year ends on Sept. 30, the imbalance will total $1.84 trillion, more than four times last year's record-high.When the government stops spending all the money what happens to the economy? When all the temp jobs dry up and people don't get $4,500 toward a new car, what happens?

It doesnt matter to them. They will truly leave something to be inherited. Unfortunately, it may be too much for the adults to clean up this time.

what it really boils down to is not numbers my friend ... it's how the American people are doing ... and I can tell you ... I'm still doing terrible. I have a job, but for how long? My house has not gained any value, I haven't got a raise in 2 years, prices of everything are still sky high and there doesn't look to be any relief in sight!!
so IMO .... the Economy still SUCKS!!!

I think you and millions of Americans will not feel any of the effects of the stimulus package. You would have been better served if the government CUT taxes for businesses so they could afford to give pay raises and expand their business. There is NO WAY a boss will give a pay raise when he just found out he will be getting taxed at a higher rate to pay for all the money Obama is spending.
I'm a firm believer in lowering taxes and giving tax incsentives to businesses to expand and give pay raises. With unemployment so high there is too much competition for jobs and bosses are NOT scared of losing good employees if they do NOT give pay raises.

It isn't getting better, and it's causing me and millions of other people lots of stress. I wasted too much time getting good grades in college instead of working part-time and developing practical skills, so I have nothing useful to market to employers, and there is no niche I can apparently fill effectively right now. I'm seeing people around me getting laid off, other college graduates having difficulty finding something they can do, and watching family members with health issues struggle with medical bills. And no, many of these people actually aren't buying expensive cell phones, nice cars, plasma TVs, and big houses - they are just living normally.

Why would they give a pay raise and not pocket the difference from the tax cut?

What damage control did Bush do? He did a terrible job. Right now it doesn't look like Obama is doing much better but he still has a few years left.

I think it's getting better in areas, but will take some time for the jobs sector to catch up. The market is doing well which causes people to calm down a little and banks are making money again which is a good foundation. Homes sales have been up too so that's good. I think once the people with jobs start to relax and spend that will open up companies to start hiring again.
I think it sucks that people have to either blame bush or obama. THis happened during both of their terms. Maybe it would be a much better thing to focus on the actual issue rather than whom to blame. We know pretty much what caused it so just make sure it can't happen again.

I would have been better served if the government gave me a portion of that stimulus money instead of pumping into the corrupt corporations they did! But we all know that would have never happened!
