when i was 16-17 i was like 6'2 165 And jumping GOOD and could almost dunk haha.
now im going on 20... 200 lbs
and it isnt happening

It's not an asian thing. I've seen them dunk and they're short.
Ever since I started training for football I've lost a lot of vertical. But that was years ago.

I have hops but dunking is just not normal for us short asians, I can ball but dunking isn't part of my game or any where near it for that matter ha

im also Mexican but not that short, im 5'11 and i can get as high as touching the nylon were it hooks onto the lower portion of the rim but thats it, i can dunk easily on a 9ft and do some Samaki Walker dunks on the 9ft 5'

I'm 5'11", 6ft with shoes so 8 to 8.5, maybe 9. As a rec aide for an after school program I dunked on the little kids all the time on the 8ft. Also goal tending was easy!!!

Nope, I got rim at 5 foot 9 ONCE but right now I can only consistantly get the bottom of the square on the backboard

I can grab the rim and if my hands were big enough to palm the ball I could probably dunk it, but they're not, so I probably need another inch or two of vertical. I've been doing squats and calf exercises for months but I can't quite get that last bit, and then the other day a trainer at my gym says it's because my gluteals are too small. I'm not quite sure how you build those muscles, but apparently they're just as important in jumping as your quads and calves are so I'll have to find out!
