Republican vs. Democrates
To me Rep or Dem does it really matter? Either way they are politicans .. Dirty ... Greedy ... Scum sucking politians. Havent we learned by now that they are both equally horrible and would glady mess up your life regardless of who is in office ...... Maybe its time to bring back a monarchy, one person to rule, one person to blame when they mess up then .... OFF WITH THEIR HEADS

In an ideal world, that would be the case. However, we'll always have radicals from both sides--be it those who criticize racist, facist conservatives, or those who fear race-baiting, tree-hugging leftists.
It's the uninformed idiots who turn everything to right vs. left. These people would never dare vote for anyone of the opposite party--even if he or she is the better candidate.

If you think about it, yes. Both have to be good at lying to get to where they are.
Basically, you just have to vote for the least repulsive. I've voted for a fair share of Republicans, simply because I agreed with him/her more.

me too. I havent had a party affilliation until recently. I vote republican because the democrats have allowed the far left into power. This is the most extreme, far left administration in history. I wasnt voting for Republicans. I was voting against the left. I seems like we arent voting for anything anymore. We are only voting against people.

Actually there are usually better candidates, but everyone is afraid to vote for them because it would take a vote away from the Rep or Dem and the other side might win.

This is a very good point, it seems like almost everyone is voting against something/someone rather than for something/someone

A politician is a politician is a politician regardless of party affiliation democratic, republican or whatever... Give them the enough power and they all do the same repulsive and horrid things to us. The problem is that we let them have that kind of power over us ..... People no longer have the gull to stand up to what is good and pure, instead they stand meekly with their heads in their orifices. People need to remember that we elected them to do as WE please NOT what THEY think they can do and get away with.... We elected them and if they do not do as we the people want them we can kick them out they do not need to stay in there for the whole 4 years if they are going to use and abuse their powers. It just a **** shame no one has that kind of willpower anymore, America has become a nation of cowards who bend over and allowed our elected officials to shove it as deep as they want, raping and pillaging our coffers and natural resources for their own pockets. Its time to dissolve this multi part system that is destroying us and just go for one individual cesspool we can choose from. They screw up once then they are gone and never allowed to run ever, we eliminate their inflated pension they get and put it more in line with regular people, as well as their salaries, top out their salaries at $100,000 max. Attendance to vote make it mandatory, no show then no more job, how many of these losers avoid doing their jobs at any cost….. Time to give power back to the people

Whoa...why did you wait to go off on me?
I agree with a lot of what you're saying. I think term limits should be implemented immediately so our representatives are doing what's best instead of just trying to make just enough people happy so they can keep their power. And the fact that Congress can vote to give itself a raise is ridiculous...let the people decide that.
But...there's always a but...politicians are politicians are politicians are people...and you put most other people in there and it would be very similar. You said "Give them the enough power and they all do the same repulsive and horrid things to us"...that can be said about the human race in general. It's happened repeatedly throughout history, no matter what type of political system or lack thereof was in place. It happens in middle school and high school, hell it even happens in elementary school! Humans are a vicious animal...it's not just politicians.
There are things that need to be changed, 110% there are. But when you mention things like "Its time to dissolve this multi part system that is destroying us and just go for one individual cesspool we can choose from," I have to disagree. There should be more parties, not fewer. If you think things are bad under two parties, just imagine if there's only one to select from, no choice whatsoever. I'm not sure if that's how you meant it.
And yes, these politicians are our representatives and are supposed to be our voice in government, they should most definitely remember that. But they are still elected...they do screw up repeatedly and the people still re-elect them. My point is change has to start with the people, not the politicians. People need to pay more attention to what's going on and do more learning instead of just going with "their party" and listening to what Fox News/MSNBC tell them. You're exactly right that people should take back the power...and knowledge is power! (thank you Schoolhouse Rocks!
) There doesn't need to be a revolt or an overthrow of the system, just do your research, know what you're voting for, and if you don't like the guy that's in there, vote for the other guy...and if you don't like any of the guys, run yourself! There needs to be a grassroots, bi-partisan effort to make sure the people in office know things are going to change...some of the big names start losing to little guys and they'll wise up and change their tune, or they'll be next!
Maybe that's what you're saying as well, but it just seems like you're laying all the blame on the politicians. I think the politicians are just a reflection of society itself. If the people buy into the politicians and media pitting everyone against each other (like they are, hook, line, and sinker), there won't be any change...if the people change, the politicians will be forced to change.
