im just glad i live in Oregon where the racial thing has never been a big deal,theres a part of Portland that is mostly black but the rest are just people,my oldest friend is a mexican,my nephews are half black and im a product of the American melting pot aka mutt

I dont think Im calling it racist. IDK. Im just pointing out the double standard. Its pretty insane to project racism onto people who oppose Obama for no reason, but not see this as racist. Its certainly racist by the standards that the "public representatives of the black community" use to scream racism.

99.9% of all people are racist in that they treat others different based on the color of their skin. Everyone is racist in that they see their own race as "us" and all other races as "them." And it's not just in regard to race that people do that, it's in regard to every characteristic they have. But this is bordering on lunacy. If I was walking down the street and said "Hey, how's it goin'?" to a couple of black guys who were just standing around, would you call that racist? I mean, I'd be singling them out for special treatment (receiving a casual greeting), wouldn't I? Would you demand that I then offer the same casual greeting to a white guy and call me a domestic terrorist if I didn't?

I'm getting really sick of all the obsessing over racism that goes on here. I see the same thing Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck are doing lurking right under the surface.

That's his point. What I took from his post is he is trying to prove the fact that even the smallest, most insignificant things can be completely blown out of proportion and that many people expect every single person to be treated exactly the same or else it is racism.

I have actually noticed how people give different "casual greetings" around different types of people, but I think a newsletter issued by the president geared towards a certain group of people is a little bigger than a casual greeting, as you have said.

this is the part of the post i have a contrasting opinion with. i have never in my life treated a person different because of their race. i wasnt raised that way and continue to see things the same in my adult life. when i think of the term "us", it means all of Gods people and i cant seem to be able to put a definition on the term "them" when refering to people regardless of race, religious beliefs, etc. i work in an area where several Viatnamese and African people live and at times i find it hard to communicate with "us" but i do my best without waivering the standards that i have set for myself. i aslo find it hard to believe i am part of a miniscule .1% of people in the world. i see good will towards all man excersized on a daily basis.

geared towards a certain race of people and based entirely on their race and nothing else. Whatever is in that newsletter is racist. Anything in it will serve to reinforce black stereotypes. If it adresses crime, poverty, Birth control, fathers abandoning their children, etc.... then you cant turn around and be outraged when someone assumes that black people are criminals or black people have kids too young. Does it mean that the regular newsletter is for all of the other races. Let the smarter people in washington worry about healthcare and the tax code. Those dont concern you. here are the black issues for you. Remember seperate bathrooms and water fountains? Civil rights? You cant have it both ways. I'd say that a newsletter and which seat I choose on a bus are about equally insignificant. Are they not? Nobody can honestly claim that there wouldnt be a national firestorm if any other president had done this. Its BS. Post racial my ***. Address and lead the nation in its entirety. Stop campaigning and playing race games to keep your popularity #s.
