I guess for me the numbers just don't justify the drama. Assuming that 24 kids missed school in my county yesterday, I would be willing to be that 2x that many kids stayed home yesterday simply because they missed the bus.

not to mention, at least in Austin, everyone is so worked up over it that if someone has a runny nose they stay home with "the flu"

Remember the fear that the media tried to tie to the bird flu... Same thing with H1N1

I do agree that the media is overdoing this topic. Although I am glad someone is making the public aware. It is not a major problem now, but could become one.

I remember the same thing beeing said of the Bird flu epidemic that was going to wipe us out......
It could come to be Mt. Ranier blows it's top tomorrow and wipes out most of Seattle (including myself), its not going to happen but it might; doesnt mean I need to be spreading fear and panic about it...

I believe so. Sure it needs to be spoken about, but I think it's a bit out of hand. However, they do this with just about anything. It's hard to decide if their motive is informing the public or just getting them to watch their program for ratings.

They overhyped it way too soon. Now they cant get the mild panic to come back when it is actually more warranted. That doesnt mean that it was ever really warranted, but whatever.

How would an anti-Volcana Bunker work exactly? What is it? If its an enclosure that can survive the heat of Lava.........wouldnt that be called an OVEN?
