Not so fast, my friend. Miles Austin was actually drafted...15th round, pick #171, by • PABS!!!. So he doesn't qualify. After looking at, the answer to this question will determine who wins the award.
And while we're at it, I have the same question for Best Low-Round Draft Pick. Supposed to be given to the highest scoring QB/RB/WR/TE drafted in the 14th round or later...but what if they have been dropped by the team that drafted them? Should that still count?

I say the best waiver pick up needs to be still on the team. An undrafted player that you picked up and now has earned a spot on your roster (starter or bench). Not just a fill-in.
And the best low round pick needs to still be on the team, unless he was traded then its ok. It was still a good pick.

That's what I'm thinking too...there are very understandable circumstances for some of these players being dropped (starting slow), but the fact that they were dropped at one point is kind of a knock against them being the best pick/pickup.
