Tavares YG values vs Stamkos YG values

I've noticed recently that John Tavares Young Guns are selling in the $110's now, I watched one close last night for $113. and some change, I noticed one also closed for $127. and some change...Stamkos' Young Guns is only a $60 card (should get a bump soon because of his great playing). where do people think the Tavares will debut at ? I think it might debut at $80 lo-$120 hi. thoughts appreciated.

If your talking Beckett pricing it all depends on the lottery ball they draw!!! lol

But seriously it could be close to your estimate. As well have you noticed how many Tavares YG's are on the bay? It's amazing that they are getting over $100 at the moment with so many to chose from. Once all the serious Tavares collectors get their cards, all the other listings that came in late will start dropping down a bit.

A agree 100%. Tavares SHOULD have a higher value than Stamkos. Way more hype, way more talent, and way more upside. I think you may see Stamkos start to rise a little bit though.

$80 to $120 sounds fair to me on the Tavares too.

Remember when most GMs in the league said they would take Stamkos over Tavares. It still is close and so should their respective YGs. I do expect Tavares to drop in value. I am betting around $35-40 on Ebay.

Were they the same GMs that also said they'd take Hedman over Tavares?? There were a lot of people that tried to make JT falling to #2 a real possibility, when it never really was.

I don't believe for a second that there is a single GM in the league that would take SS over JT. Stamkos is a good player, will likely be a great one. Could be a top 10 player in the league in a few years. Not going to deny that. JT could be this generation's Brett Hull.

Tavares' skill set makes him a more attractive prospect, and has a much higher ceiling.

As far as sale prices go.... I'll be surprised if we them as low is $35.... but certainly $50 - $60 is going to happen by season's end. The BV for sure will be in that $80 - $120 range, but I don't think the actual sale prices are going to stay that high too long. Stamkos consistently sells for about half of his BV, I see no reason with Tavares won't do the same.

I think Tavares will be 80-150 at first then drops to 40-80 by summer. Stamkos will be in the same range.

Best time to sell is right now before too much is on the market like the other guy said. I got a Gretzky Clearly Canadians /100 in my box and its selling high right now.....until more show up.

You gotta know when to hold em, know when to fold em!

Stamkos is certainly a good player and will be a good top PPG player for a long time, but to even call him a -future- franchise player is a stretch. Stamkos certainly got a lot of hype leading into his draft year because he was the best -forward- available (I'm not doing to say player, Doughty should have went #1).

But when those "unnamed scouts" were syaing they'd take Stamkos over TAvares in SS's draft year, it just didn't make a lot of sense to me. It's like when I heard some people say that Jared Staal was going to be the best of the Staal brothers, (just seemingly because he was the youngest). Some things you jsut shake your haad at.

On top of that, Tavares is playing in much bigger marker in New York (albeit in Long Island, but it's NY), which will only further accentuate his value. If Tavares YGs ever drop to $35-40 in cost (as someone was suggesting), I'd be snapping them up like hotcakes.
