    Too many requests?

I had just read a thread that shows where a very well respected member had sent a number of times to a HOF player and I have in the past as well to a certain number of players. We take the same chance each time we send and it usually is a good reason in our collections. I for instance have always tried to get a 1990 Pacific Legends whenever I see someone signing from that set, but might mail again to get the player in another set I am looking for, get the player in a different teams uniform or even to get on an 8x10 photo. Someone like that member does custom cards and makes sets himself of players to sign. What are your thoughts on remailing to players vs being the guy who sends 10-20 items to a player at one time? I might send 3 or 4 different times to get 4 or 5 different items total. What is the autograph communities thoughts on this. Was it wrong to send to Pete Rose twice with two cards for my collection each time? Let us here as this is a fun subject.

I've definetly done that before sometimes I like to see how good the sig is before I send something nice to get signed. There's nothing worse than seending a favorite item to get signed and then the sig is really sloppy espcially if it's an item that has been signed by several players.

Sometimes I send a lesser item to make sure the address is still good.

Also I'll resend to reliable guys if I'm going through a drought and want a sure thing to come back in the mail.

I'll send something small the first time- like an autograph card. If they sign it, I'll try them again on something larger like an 8x10 or an OMLB. I've only resent a second time maybe (5) times...

if i send to a player more then once.. i always wait a few months to send again just out of respect of the player and other TTMers.. and if i send more then one thing its only 3 items and i always offer for the player to keep one.. i do this cause it stinks when a good signer start charging because they say there getting to much fan mail.. and it stinks when a good signer turns to a 1 per like jimmy key did this year cause of to much mail... just my 2 cents..

I don't have any problem with someone sending multiple request to the same player. When I make customs to send most of the time I will make three or four cards of the player. Instead of sending all four at once I will send two, Then wait till I get them back to send my other two.

i know the player personaly and he like the stuff i send (customs, photos and other stuff) and he keeps some of the stuff he likes. he likes seeing all the stuff i send him. i wouldnt do that to a normal player that i just have a card or 2 of i would just send that. ive only send over 10 2 times and that was to the guy i know with the 30 items and pat neshek with 10 (5 photos, 3 cards, team photo and baseball. i wasnt saying its right to send 30 thing to a guy that just signs, i was just trying to say that send the stuff and sending 3 times to a guy with 2 cards isnt that big of a deal. i only focus on quality of autographs now instead of quantity, i sent ridiculas amounts when i stated like 6 to some random player who played 2 seasons.

I think it's fine imo as well, but be respectful with your amounts though. All I have right now is cards to send, once I get a bigger budget/more time, I plan to send balls/8x10s to guys, including some guys I already got on cards. And of course i'll have my little team projects to get a bunch of players on one ball/photo.
