That is a pretty darn big risk if you ask me. I wouldn't do it, but Bobby Doerr is a great signer. I still personally wouldn't risk that.

I'd spend the money and go to shows personally. I wouldn't send it through the mail. You never know what can happen to it.

I would do it with guys who are really good with fanmail like Doerr, Sparky Anderson, macPhail, Rollie Fingers, and then guys who charge like Musial, Berra, larsen, Snider. Just send with a confirmation # and use a box instead of an envelope.
Going to shows is WAY overpriced.

Larsen isn't a HOFer.
Personally, I'd go with in-person signings.

I wouldn't do it, especially since it is signed by some moderately hard guys to get. If it were me, I would go for a HOF/500HR ball by trying to add Mays, McCovey, Robinson, Aaron, and Killebrew via IP signing. It would be pretty damn pricey but what a classy piece. Just an idea.

Really unless you are able to pick a great theme and complete it do not get more than one sig on a baseball! I know nothing is worse than when a player signs a side panel, but I met sooner have a single signed side panel baseball than one with a mix match of signatures. The 500hr idea is a cool one, but if you were going to pay show prices why not get individual baseballs and display them? The 500 HR club has been tainted by the steroid era anyways.
