For the most part, I could not agree more. I was looking to buy a Robin Yount signed ball and the cheapest one I found from a reputable seller was signed by Yount, Earl Weaver, and Al Kaline with Kaline and Yount on the side panels. It was selling for $100. It just looked odd. The price was amazing for a Yount sig, a Kaline sig, and a Weaver sig on a ROMLB but together just bizzare.
500hr is tainted to a degree. The "old school" 500HR club is still pretty elite. Its when you start adding the Palmeros and McGwires of the world that it gets real dicey real quick.
Normally I would agree its better to have separate sigs on separate balls but if you already have a ball signed by Jackson and Schmidt getting the old school 500HR club is much better than getting a slew of sigs.

just a side note...
As for the idea of 500+ club, I like the idea, would be pricey, but GREAT PIECE!
JUST DONT GET BONDS ON IT!!! Would have to asterisk it yourself!
