SCF's linking policy in regards to COMC
Hello,
I'm writing this in an attempt to get your help in changing the 'no linking' policy in regards to this site. I am both a VIP of SCF and a user of comc's as many of you are. I was informed that linking to the site was in violation of the SCF rules because COMC is not a paid advertiser.
I have consulted with the SCF 'Off Site Relations' Manager: doniceage and he has suggested that each member should contact him to voice their concerns, so it might be brought to the attention of SCF 'Higher-ups' for possible consideration.
If you have a moment, please contact him to voice any concerns you have, so he may help relate them to others. I would caution, please be polite, and diplomatic about your pm. I myself pointed out that quite a few members of SCF use the COMC site to obtain items for their collections, not just sell. I also pointed out that I use ebay very little, so the ebay linking is not really of any use to me.
Additionally, I would also like to suggest that you contact Tim Getsch (COMC Founder/Owner) and try to convey your concerns to him at this email: staff_AT_checkoutmycards.com
Sincerely,
Jim

I haven't been on SCF in some time, but I received a whole mess of PMs today regarding Gridironherosandgreatspost above. I think that we will all probably have to try something. I have not sold on ebay in over 2 years so yes the ebay link does nothing for me. I'm sure that SCF and COMC could work something out just like BO and COMC did. More and more people are using the boards and the sites which helps out everyone.
Here are my stats since 4/2008 (mainly FB but I have a lot of all sports. I've done pretty well flipping with the cards I have purchased, I've also taken advantage of the deal w/blowout for gift certs a few times)
Items in Inventory 528
Total Book Value $4,054.55
Items w/o Book Price 26
Total Asking Price $1,477.22
Total Sales $1,867.68
Items Sold 1,486
Items Purchased 280
Items Added to the Site 1,858

I'm almost positive that this will be old news for anyone that sent a message to Don. I was told that eBay pays the boards a fee so that we can have the privilege of having our eBay accounts linked to our user names.
Hopefully, COMC will come to some agreement along the same lines as FeeBay so that we can have the same privilege with our accounts there.

It may be old news......... But I (along with numerous others) am trying to renew the effort to get a deal done with the 2 parties. I have emailed Tim, and I know (for a fact) that Don is working closely on this to help the members. I spoke with someone at COMC yesterday, and that person took great note in the fact that this thread about COMC - is on of the largest current threads on the SCF site.
That in and of itself, shows that there is quite a bit of interest by members of this site, about the COMC site.
(Take notice to the Q4 results below)
I would bet, that close to 10% of the 10,900+ accounts they have, heard about COMC from SCF...........

This site is just growing fast and faster. Here is a bit of a progression over the last little amount of time:
Dec 6th/09
baseball--207k cards listed
football--134k
basketball--66k
hockey--42k
Dec 20th/09
baseball--211k cards listed
football--139k
basketball--67k
hockey--42k
today
baseball--215k cards listed
football--144k
basketball--69k
hockey--43k
now if only hockey got to be somewhere in the baseball or football area I would be selling on this site. How are the hockey sales now? Have they picked up at all?
