My dad's resolution was to lose weight also.
He has lost I think 3 or 4 pants sizes.
The only thing he's doing is drinking a mixture of this which sounds disqusting, but tastes pretty good:
ground cayan peppers
vinegar
molasis/maple syrup (doesnt matter)
minced garlic
Hes lost around 15 pounds in about 2 weeks!
Im very proud of him.

GR8 deal joining the gym. You can release that anger on a heavy bag, and keeping fit is the plus as well! Keep up the GR8 work and keep the positive attitude to help keep the temper in check!!!
AWESOME!!! Congrats and keep up the GR8 work. Having been through the ‘quit smoking’ process with my father & my father-in-law, it’s definitely a good life move. Keep it up (and then come convince my youngest son not to do it, he won’t listen to me).
OH MY GOSH!!! You better not be doing it to lose weight. If that was the case we might not even be able to see the munchkin’!!!
We’re using the Wii Fit & Wii Biggest Loser and they are definitely helping. It’s fun and a good workout at the same time! Good luck with your weight loss!!!
Hummm… maybe I can help to make you happy, AND add some Happy’s at the same time!!! LOL
WOW!!! 3-4 pants sizes? Sheesh. I’m just happy that having lost 13 pounds so far that my pants are starting to get loose, lol. YES, it does sounds yucky! I think I’m gonna just stick to having three small meals and two snacks a day that gives me less fat, less calories and do lots of exercise!
I wish you the best of luck in accomplishing this goal. Especially with today’s job market. A college degree will go a little ways farther in finding decent employment over no degree. Good Luck!!!

Ugggh!!! What a disappointing week this was. I worked my butt off all week. My week started out kinda rough with a varied sleep routine, excessive leg pain, etc. but towards the end of the week I was back on track with sleep, eating and exercise.
And all for what... the loss of one pound! ARRRGHHH!!!
I guess I shouldn't complain too much, that is a total of 14 lost pounds since the beginning of January. But it just felt like I did so much and had very little results. Now I know how those contestents feel around week two on the Biggest Loser tv shows, lol.

Just to say it... I did TRY and make a drink guessing at the portions!?!?!?!?! It was TERRIBLE!!!!
It's been a struggle these past three weeks since I last posted. This is now week 7 of my try at sheding the pounds. To date I have lost a total of 17 lbs. While I am happy that I have sort of kept up with my goal of 2lbs per week, the last 3 weeks have been rough with no weight loss or 1 lb as in this past week.
I figured with all that snow shoveling I did, I would have lost a good bit of weight. But nope, it didn't happen.
I guess I better start working even harder if I plan to be a skinnny guy in time to go to the Nationals if I can make it this year. Need to look my best if I'm gonna get to meet Kirsten from Press Pass!!! Never can tell... maybe I'll get to meet Caitlin too!!!

Hey, Don't get discouraged. Your body may have hit a plateau and you need to adjust to it in order to lose more weight. I dropped 9 lbs since joining the gym, but to only have 4 lbs come back, but thankfully not on the waist. I have been trying to go as often as possible with at least 1 day off at my discretion to relax. When I go to the gym, I hit the weights and then onto the bike for at least 30 minutes cycling at 16 mph. That usually hits a heck of a sweat. It works though. I feel much better, although my tongue has been acting forked a bit more these last 2 weeks. But I am doing all I can to stay comitted and I am sure you will to.

Excellent... keep up the hard work and you'll keep dropping it off too.
I'm just frustrated because it seems like I was working so hard and not getting results I want. I went to the doctors and he was reviewing some of what I have been doing as well as my diet. My body is starting to change some however, the belly is a little smaller. It's nice to be able to stand on the scale and not need to lean forward to see the numbers anymore, lol.
BUT... on the other hand, some of what I have been doing is not enough... eating! Doc said that I'm not getting enough of the proper calories taken in to lose weight. I'm currently at 1,972 calories daily, and I'm having a problem with getting them all in (I barely hit 1800 and above without eating way more then I'm used to). When I add my workouts to the program menu, I'm dropping 300+ calores at a time from exercise. Doc said I need to get my calories pumped in (carbs & protiens) before my workouts and be sure to get my daily amounts up to the proper amounts. He's telling me my body is trying to get things to keep it stable that I'm not supplying. Basically, I'm starving it from specific needs after exercising, which then limits what I would have actually lost in weight.
He thinks that once I can achieve the daily calorie intake to meet my needs for my workouts, I should start dropping more weight. This is where a nutrition counselor added with a trainer would be a huge benefit, but I just can't afford $50+ a week to get that help. Especially when it would be for the wife and myself. For now, we're still trying to get the job done by ourselves.
In my 7th week now and have only lost a total of 17 lbs. That's still more then my goal of at least 2lbs per week, but I'm really hoping to start seeing bigger numbers now as my body is starting to change.
