I guess if a goalie plays a puck but a player wanted to play it too and they collide, thats a penalty on the goalie. Man, some of these new NHL rules are crazy...

If you're above the circle, you should be fair game. How could Price honestly take offense to that?

Then stay in the blue paint. Less chance of you getting hurt there.
If you come out and play the puck like a defense man then you should take no offense at being hit like one.
Don't give me that junk about goalies not having proper protection or are star players so they can't be touched. It doesn't wash as there are lots of star players making big bucks who get hit every game.
No one likes to see there stars get hurt but if you are out playing the puck then thats the chance you take.

Yeah I'm serious. The goalies shouldn't be allowed to do that IMO. The player would've had a clear break at the net if Price doesn't charge out to play the puck. Price instead of going for the puck leans into Janssen. Price got out so fast that Janssen couldn't stop if he wanted to. Price gets the worst of the hit but then gives Janssen a couple of shoves.

Good way for Janssen to get under the other teams skin.
I always thought that it was obvious that goalies aren't fair game, because they lack protection across the tops of their backs, their skate blades are cut with a shallower hollow, their helmets come off a lot easier, and it's a lot easier to twist a knee with those big pads on. Sure a bump when he comes out of his crease is ok, but not a full on shoulder down hit, like what Janssen put on Price.

Generally when I think "annihilated" I don't equate that with "gets right back up and pulls his defenceman off the guy so he can throw hands."
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

I agree with the merits of that, but that's not the case.
If a goalie comes out of his net to play the puck, and is hit but an opposing player..... it *IS* an interference penalty.

That was a nice hit..The way I see it Price was asking for it! I mean seriously did he actually think that he wasn't going to get hit?

Difficult to say what he "expected," but you can't blame him for responding for the guy leaving his feet to plow him over.
