    Most Annoying Player Combo's

Do you get annoyed when a non-PC player/team regularly gets paired up with a player/team that you like to collect for your PC?

Being a Lidstrom collector and exclusive Red Wing fan, I must admit that I get frustrated at times by the Lidstrom/Salming combo that UD and ITG choose to produce in many of their high end products. Although there are some nice Lidstrom patches and autos on one half of the card, I just can not bring myself to put a Maple Leaf in my PC.

Yes, I understand that they are both from Sweden, and are both two of the greatest blue liners of all-time, but I sure wish they would choose a few more wings parings and produce a few less Salming's. Its not like there aren't a lot of good Swedish pairings on the Wings roster....lol.

This isn't a complaint, as I understand there is probably a good market for the Lidstrom/Salming cards. Just a personal peeve.

Looking at all the new Lidstrom/Salming SPx cards coming up it got me wondering....

Do any of you have a regular pairing of players that produce an annoying combo for your PC?

What I hate is seeing Kings put on a card with Ducks or even worse....the Sharks. I HATE the sharks and it kills me to see a King paired with one of them.

You summed it up perfectly for me. The Salming/Lidstrom cards are my most hated. Hopefully we can see some different pairings soon, now with Hedman in the game Ud and ITG can make a few different combo's

I don't mind so much so long as the pairings make at least SOME sense. Someone on here pulled a winning trios of Getzlaf/Ward/Schenn....???

08/09 Dual Game Night Ticket has Michael Ryder paired up with Dany Heatley. I have actually passed up on the card once on here, and once in a store here in Edmonton as I can't bring myself to pay money for something with that poor excuse for a human being on it; even if he is paired up with one of my PC players.

As for the Getzlaf/Ward/Schenn that was me, and I don't get the combo either.

Never had one that I really hated..... but I thought an ITG combo of Bill Ranford and Phil Housley a few years ago was odd.

It was part of the 'Battle of Alberta' set, in ITG Ultimate Memoribilia. It was Housley being in the set, more than anything, that confused me. He didn't arive in Calgary until the 1994-95 season. Long after the more "storied rivalry".

Had an ITG International Ice combo, in a USA vs Canada GU subset.... paired with Pat LaFontiane. Cool card, but I scratched my head as to why Ranford / Lafontaine made sense.

I've gotten board with the Ranford / Fuhr cards. It's a logical pairing, makes perfect sense..... but Upper Deck has beat it to death. Heck, give me a Ranford / Tommy Salo. Something to add a little variety.

I'm really glad I'm not the only one who thinks Heatley is a slimey piece of turd

It's a little bit weak that because all three players are from Saskatchewan that they should be sharing cardboard space. I could understand if they were all on the same world junior team or some such thing, but as I go over the checklist there's a trios with Price, Lucic, and Kariya. That'll make pretty much nobody happy!

I'm still longing for the day they pair Gorges and Weber on a card and everybody's wondering what's the point and I'm smiling like an idiot because a) Josh finally has a GU'd memorabilia card, and b) the anchors of the 2004 Memorial Cup Champs' blueline are finally on a card together.

Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

Ryan Miller and Maxim Afinogenov. Thank god he got traded.

Also not a fan of when Stastny gets put on anything with Darcy Tucker

I second the Lucic, Price, Kariya combo. I also saw a Neely, Messier and Hossa combo....what the heck do they have in common?

Why can't UD just do a Neely/Lucic combo already?!?!?
