    Obama Pushes Responsibility

"When times are tough, you tighten your belts," Obama said, according to a White House transcript of his appearance Tuesday at a high school in North Nashua, N.H.

"You don't go buying a boat when you can barely pay your mortgage," Obama said. "You don't blow a bunch of cash on Vegas when you're trying to save for college. You prioritize. You make tough choices."

So he's a hypocrite? Pushing the people tightening their belts while incurring a $1.5 trillion deficit last year and sending a $1.27 trillion deficit to Congress in this budget. "Do as I say, not as I do."

Spending on Gov't programs = Waking up in Vegas. Not IMO.

Increasing deficits by $1 trillion = tightening your belt. Not IMO.

I do too...increasing the size, scope, and dependence of government instead of the people who actually earned it putting it directly back into the economy.

I agree with your criticism Tiger--hopefully you were this critical of the previous administration, who increased the size and scope of government on an absurd level---

I completely disagree with the amount of money spent and the expansion of government under the Bush administration, but neither are on par with what this administration is doing/trying to do.

You also need to look at the national security apparatus--part of the scope of government often overlooked--Bush added an entire new department-the expansion of government in this area was huge--i think we share similiar views, I'm just more critical of the previous administration, because that party is supposed to be a stalwart of conservatism (not neo-conservatism which is liberalism cloaked), and they have done a terrible job
