2010 Dodgers Caravan
Went to the 2010 Dodgers Caravan for a couple of days, one at ESPN Zone in L.A. Live and one at Olvera Street. Got there 3-4 hours early for both signing events and there was already quite a long line. Heres what I got:
February 2, 2010 (had some help for this one)
Tommy Davis 1/1 baseball SS, 2/2 baseball SS and Dodger autograph card
Al Downing 1/1 baseball SS, 1/1 Dodger autograph card
Kenny Landreaux 1/1 baseball SS, 1/1 Dodger autograph card
Bobby Castillo 1/1 baseball SS, 1/1 Dodger autograph card
Rudy Law 2/2 baseball SS and Dodger autograph card, 1/1 Dodger autograph card
Tommy Lasorda was there, but left early and didn't see him by the time we got inside for the signing. Andre Eithier was there as well, but I just missed him by 10-15 people or so because he had to drop the puck at the Kings game across the street, really wanted to get him on a baseball too

February 3, 2010
Signing at Olvera Street seperated fans into 2 lines with limit of 150 fans per line, one line with Matt Kemp, the other line with Fernando Valenzuela. Decided to go to the Kemp line, and barely made the cut as i got wristband #145, close to the cutoff. My line included Matt Kemp, James McDonald, Jim Campanis, and Jaime Jarrin. The other line included Fernando Valenzuela, Steve Yeager, Ramón Troncoso, and one other person I'm not recalling right now. All very strict with 1 per. Heres what I got:
Matt Kemp 1/1 ROMLB SS
James McDonald 1/1 baseball SP
Jaime Jarrin 1/1 Dodger autograph card
Jim Campanis 1/1 Ddger autograph card

Tried to head over the other line to see if I could grab Valenzuela but once the 150 people with wristbands finished and there were only 20 people left, they wouldn't let anyone sign any more memorabilia and instead just passed out Dodger autograph cards. All the players had no problem signing more, but Dodgers staff was real strict with the rules which surprised me. Got me:
Fernando Valenzuela 1/1 Dodger autograph card
Ramón Troncoso 1/1 Dodger autograph card

After the signing, they had a rally speech and JMac snuck down to sign for more fans, only to have him get yelled at by the Dodgers Staff secured by the police. As they headed back for the caravan, JMac was surrounded by 5 police guards and complaining to the staff that he wanted to sign some more for the kids who waited all day. Earned my respect and was real friendly with the fans.
Overall, great experience, hope to attend more in the future, will post more pictures if requested. Thanks for reading!Last edited by usctr0jans; 02-05-2010 at 01:21 AM.

Great success. How big are those "autograph cards" that they passed out? Never seen them before.
