Bay question.............

Did you tape the toploader? Cards can get damaged since they do slide out if not sealed well. I've received my share of these, doesn't matter if they are in bubblers or whatever.

It was taped and sealed in team bag just as I do in all transactions.

It happens, either the person is pulling something or it did get damaged in the mail. Either way as a good seller I usually just refund them the money if they send it back to me.

Hopefully it was a low end GU and you only lost out on a couple of bucks!

sounds to me she is trying to pull a fast one trying to keep the card and money, but thats just my opinion... did she agree to send you a scan of the damage?

I replied right after she messaged me, I asked for a scan and I have not heard back. But here's the original message.


"When my husband received his card (michael jordan and ray allen dual jersey card) it has a crack down the middle of the card. It totally takes away any value that card had. It said the card was in near mint to mint condition. I was wondering what we can do about this. Any suggestions you might have would be great. Thanks in advance."

To me it sounds like she is trying to pull a fast one on you. Why hasn't she scanned it? Almost every serious collector these days has a scanner(or access to one), it seems. Even if she does not have a scanner she can just go to a neighbourhood copy shop and pay a dollar or two for a scan. This is one reason that I have not used ebay for the past few years. Though you can get some good deals it is too addictive(time-wasting) and there are too many dishonest people.

I noticed that some sellers state they make no claims about the condition of the cards. Even though it may appear mint to them they say they are not graders - judge for yourself from the picture. I think this is a good idea.
It sucks and it is a hassle but it could have been worse.

You will need a scan to move on. If Jordan and ray allen GU, I guess you are talking about SPGU 09-10, right? If so, make sure the card has the same serial number as your picture. It could be she bought a "damage" one from somewhere before, and tried to get your perfect card and ask for refund.

1 time, I got a letter, but no card inside. It was so hard for me to proof to the seller that it is empty inside. Another time, I won 2 cards from the same seller, but he only put in 1 card. Again, it was very hard to proof to him that it was 1 card missing.

And I always don't leave feedback as a seller not until they leave feedback first. This way, i can just dump them "negative" right away if this happens :P

Yep, it's SP GU. I figured I would have got a scan or pic by now but like you said I have to wait. She has to be pulling one on me...............I wait until they leave feedback.

Well guys, thanx for all the input. It has been over 48hrs since and I have not heard back from ole girl..................If you received a MJ GU that was supposedly sent damaged wouldn't you be on the ball about trying to get the situation resolved??

Okay I never got a reply or a scan that I asked for of the supposed crack in the card and this was last Thursday. So today I get positive feedback from this person??? This really ticks me off. You accuse me of false advertisment and I am pro active in trying to get the situation resolved and I never hear from you................some peoples kids!!

So strange!! All sorts of people out there who are either dishonest or just plain stupid. Well at least you got a positive feedback and did not have to refund any money!
