My .02 is that if they want to reform healthcare they should start with eliminating ridiculous costs for menial medical services. I find it a joke that I go see my doctor for a sinus infection then he charges my insurance $87 because he saw me for 4 minutes and looked up my nose. One, I already knew I had a sinus infection and really just needed a prescription for it and two, by the hour he is knocking down somewhere around $800.
Somebody please explain to me why it is OK that doctors make more in an hour or two than most people make in a week??.....

Another example of how the American government does NOT work for the American people.

Well that's pretty simple .. he has to have some way to pay back those ridiculous college loans he racked up in his 15 some years of studying ... right?
I hear ya though man, I tried a couple weeks back to call my Doc and tell him listen I've got a sinus infection and I need you to call me in some antibiotics ... his response was I need to see you so I can make sure it's a sinus infection. my response was "thanks but no thanks, I can't afford the $140 out of pocket for you to tell me it's exactly what I know it is ... a sinus infection"
so I went right down the road to the local Walgreens, and into the clinic there, and 20 minutes later I was done with med's in hand ... and it only cost me $40 total.
I could not for the life of me figure out why my doctor charges $140 out of pocket for a visit and the clinic charges $40 with meds included? then it came to me .. the clinic nurse did not go through 15 years of education and rack up $483,264 in student loans that she has to gouge me on to pay back!!

Jermz - in your example you also do not have the threat of a malpractice suit if it is not a sinus infection. Malpractice insurance is not cheap and no way he can give you drugs without seeing you.

Yeah, good point. Malpractice suits get out of hand.
Government big enough to give you everything, is big enough to take everything away. I dont know where I got that, but I didnt make it up. This is the direction our government is heading.

Personally, I don’t think this bill will last. According to the drudgereport, eight states are ready to sue the federal government over obamacare once the bill has been signed. If these lawsuits can drag out until the November elections – hopefully the American People will vote out the democrats who are up for re-election. If we’re lucky, the Republicans will control Congress and they can repeal this.
