There definitely is a lot of Kings love around here, but it doesn't detract from the fact that Doughty is an elite d-man. It's almost unanimous that Keith is the consensus pick, even amongst the Kings fan base. Doughty more than deserves the nomination, I agree he is a better overall defenseman than Mike Green, and he is likely to win this award in the future. Green is without doubt an amazing offensive talent. He is Paul Coffey modern day. That may be enough to keep him in the Norris running for many years as well and perhaps a win on an off year or injury year for others. I am sure it was a tough decision for Yzerman in the Olympics as he likely heavily weighed the value of Green as a PP anchor, but when you hit that elite level of talent the drop off is minimal and you pick from the gut.
I would be hard pressed to fathom Doughty suddenly regressing. I don't watch a ton of his hockey though and may read too much in my limited exposure to him.
I am sure some anti-Doughty sentiment is just meant to get under the skin of some passionate fans
We gotta go easy on the King faithful though. It's been a long time in the dog house and the sun must look really bright to them again.

I love Drew Doughty, and he will win probably at least 4 Norris trophies in his career, just not yet, Duncan Keith gets the edge

Don't forget about Myers over in Buffalo, he looks like he could be a staple for years.

LMAO, it is indeed bright after 8 long years but I have a feeling it not only gets brighter, but we are going to become very acclimated to it's intensity for quite some time.
Just a guess and all.
