I heard fantasy - are you talking 32 teams starting from scratch? or current 30 teams with 2 expansions - 2 expansions building their team similar to when real NHL teams started......

and I think the one living nearest to LA gets LA
Sorry Andy, you live closer to the Sharks than I do......

If I'm San Jose, I'm trading EVERYONE, relocating the team to San Diego and calling them the California North Stars (CNS Hockey)

I refuse to be SJ though. If this is by choice and Chris gets the Kings, I'm taking Sens or Avs.

my initial thought was 2 expansion franchises building their teams like a real expansion franchise; but a Super Draft would be extremely, extremely cool (but would take forever).

I have alot of ideas for this right now.

Thats fine... this is what would make it fun!

btw, I probably would not take the Sabre GM spot... I already have a team in mind that I would want.

Here is my thoughts on the Conference/Divisional setup on this 32 Team League

    EAST
    North
    Buffalo
    Boston
    Montreal
    Toronto
    Ottawa
    Pittsburgh
    Columbus
    Philadelphia

    South
    Rangers
    Islanders
    Devils
    Atlanta
    Carolina
    Tampa
    Florida
    Washington

    WEST
    North
    Detroit
    Minnesota
    Chicago
    Calgary
    Edmonton
    Nashville
    Vancouver
    Expansion Team #1 (Winnipeg?)

    South
    Dallas
    Phoenix
    Los Angeles
    Anaheim
    San Jose
    Colorado
    St. Louis
    Expansion Team #2 (Kansas City?)

    Other options do exist

    1) Move Columbus into the Northwest and move the Winnipeg team to Hamilton or Quebec.

    2) Make the teams in both North Divisions a Conference and both South Divisions a conference (This would put all 6 current Canadian teams in the same Conference!)

    3) Go with no divisional structure, just 16 teams in a Conference.

I think there is some interest for this. Any more input?

Actually give me the expansion in Winnipeg.

Unless you move the 2nd expansion to Seattle, which would do so much better for a real franchise. Then, I'd take that one

Or we could do a SCF fantasy league on Yahoo, ESPN or something like that? Either way, I'm in.

I'd say super draft, just draft the 18 skaters + 2 goalies, than a few back-ups for injuries. And also make it where we have to stay under the cap, and we can trade draft picks. I can help as well. I have some free-time.

I'd be interested depending on how it is set up. Like the expansion teams would be at a huge disadvantage in this set up? Lots of question marks still.

I've been waiting for this to happen, can't wait. Hopefully you can start out as a CHL player, play your junior career and then get drafted to the NHL
