Habs' 2006 1st Round Pick Not at Development Camp
David Fischer, whom the Habs selected out of Minnesota with the 20th pick in 2006, has not been invited to the team's development camp. This doesn't bode well for his future with the club, as the team has until mid-August to sign him or else he goes back into the draft. Once again Trevor Timmins has failed at his primary role. Guess who was taken two spots later? Claude Giroux.
Also, Habs have released Jason Missiaen, the hulking 6'8" goalie that was drafted in 2008. I think I may have an auto of his. LOL
*sigh* This is the latest in a string of first-round bust draft picks for the Canadiens. They sacked 6 guys from their scouting department yesterday; how does Timmins still have a job?

Look at it this way Rich...at least you've got first round picks to use. And players that are obviously talented that you don't trade away.
Us Leaf fans don't even get that.

2002 - Chris Higgins - traded
2003 - Andrei Kostitsyn - will hopefully be traded
2004 - Kyle Chipchura - traded
2005 - Carey Price - might be traded
2006 - David Fischer - who knows
2007 - Ryan McDonagh - traded; Max Pacioretty - Hamilton

2001 - Carlo Colaiacovo - traded to St. Louis
2002 - Alexander Steen - traded to St. Louis
2003 - No Pick
2004 - No Pick
2005 - Tuukka Rask - traded to Boston.
2006 - Jiri Tlusty - traded to Carolina
2007 - No Pick
2008 - Luke Schenn - our best pick in ages.
2009 - Nazem Kadri - should be a good pick. London right now.
2010 - No Pick
2011 - No Pick
I could keep going back, but it's just like being punched in the face repeatedly. Wendel Clark may have been one of our last good first round picks. That was in 1985.
Either we have no picks, or we use them on players that end up sucking, OR we trade away the one's who are good. Or trade them all. For players like Owen Nolan, Vesa Toskala, and Andrew Raycroft.

Hey, at least you didn't trade down for Marc Pouliet..... instead of taking Zach Parise (knowing that the Devils wanted him).
