    Budget

So, it's pay day for me next week and as I have spent a lot of money on cards just recently, I am going to try and stick to a budget.

Being overseas, it's tough because shipping can sometimes be the same, if not, more expensive than the card itself.

Does anyone here have a weekly/monthly budget that they stick to? Be interesting to hear.

Very good point. I always make sure rent and bills are paid first before diving into buying cards. Always.

I definitely feel you on this. I am constantly looking at cards and love the thrill of expecting a card-mailday.

I put 10% of my net pay into savings every pay check, pay my bills, make sure I have money for groceries/gas, then I use the rest for fun expenses (which is normally cards and/or CBJ games with my son).

Being the accountant that I am, I have created a detailed budget with every expense on there. Unfortunately, I am not doing a good job of following my monthly card budget as I am a box opening fool right now. Bought a case of 07/08 ITG Heroes and Prospects, 2 boxes of 08/09 SPX, 5 boxes of 06/07 ITG Heroes and Prospects, a box of 09/10 Ultimate, and a box of 09/10 SP Authentic just in the last two weeks. Yeah...I am wayyyyyyy over my $200 budget this month. Thanks god I have an understanding wife.

Wow, that is a lot of boxes. Are the 09/10 'cheaper' now and can you still get many good cards from them, too?

Understanding spouse is very handy! My girlfriend thinks I am obsessed already and think I love cards more than her, haha.

Most of the boxes have not showed up yet. Still in transit. The only box I have received was the Ultimate and all I got was a Bossy AU. I don't believe they are any cheaper than what they were at one time.

I spend about $20 each month on cards. Someimtes a little more or sometimes less depending on how much money I earn. I basically make about 4-5 deals on SCF on average per month. Shipping is usually $3 (including the bubble mailer), plus I sometimes buy a few cards just to get some tradebait in.
