You obviously never seen Kovalchuk play.
He was the playoff leader for the Devils....a team not known for offense.
He was also +10 this past season.
Just wait my friend, just wait.

You're giving Kovy too much credit, but ok... This is a Bruins Thread, lets keep money grubbing russian players out of it...

First off, +1 for this post ^^^
Back on topic here, one of the main reasons I've heard that Savvy should be moved is 1.)Contract amount (about 4million dollar cap hit this year)
2.) MAJOR logjam of Centers coming up that deserve shots (I counted 6 including both Savard and Seguin)
What I see as a possibility (I've read this somewhere as a possible rumour as well, just can't remember where) is the Sabres being interested in a deal with something along the lines of Savard for Drew Stafford (a young winger full of potential in need of a scenery change IMO) and a pick (3rd or 4th rounder maybe?). Stafford's cap hit is about $1.9 million which would give the Bruins an additional $3.1 million roughly to work with which would easily help them sign at LEAST one of their RFAs and likely, a draft pick like Seguin.
As a Sabres fan, this is something that I thing could benefit both sides as the Bruins would get a chance to sign Seguin and Wheeler, while adding a winger who if he gets the right spark can be a big point producer at a low cap number and a pick while the Sabres would get (IMO) a TRUE #1 playmaking center who can setup Vanek, score, and play in a variety of situations and who DOES step up his game a bit in the post-season.
Also as a Sabres fan, while I'm cautiously optimistic that it could happen, I still doubt it with how awful of a GM Darcy is

Savard to the Leafs for Kaberle........Boston feels sorry for taking Seguin away from Toronto....

+1 For this one too! ^^^
I would actually gladly take that deal. Gives us another winger to play with the amount of centers we do have. Right now, Bergeron, Krejci, Seguin, Campbell are the starting 4, but Joe Colbourne is on his way up and is almost ready to take over, so with that being said, Savard, I love you man, and you deserve a place that you can shine, and the Sabres are old friends of the Bruins... I can actually see that deal happen...

The Bruins will be stacked again this year. They will need Savard for a playoff run. Hopefully they don't choke and blow a 3-0 lead in the playoffs again.

I think there is zero chance the Bruins deal Savard to the Leafs. Why would they?? It only serves to improve Toronto. The Bruins own the Leafs' first round pick again next year, and it looks to be a top 5 once again. Why would they mess with that??
